  • Patch 1.0.1 - Fixes for Linux and Steam Errors - 25 September 2026

Patch Notes Linux players now launch the native Linux version. Previously Steam tried to start the Windows executable, and the game would not open. Fixed a crash on launch on some Linux systems ("Invalid MainLoop script base type"). The game now starts normally even if the crash-reporting component can't load on your system. Fixed repeated Steam errors when running the game through Proton. Steam features now switch off cleanly if Steam can't connect for the game, instead of erroring on every level. Fixed a rare crash when moving from one level to the next. Thank you to everyone who reported these, especially our Linux players. If you run into anything else, press F8 in game to send a bug report, or post a comment in the discussions.

  • Linux and MacOS Launch Issues Fixed - 25 September 2026

A small update to the game's launch options has been applied. This should fix the Linux and Mac builds for both the demo and the full game. Thanks to a player who took the time to report the issue, I was able to find and fix it right away. Sorry for the hiccup, everyone! A note for Proton players I saw some of you were still able to play on Linux using Proton. That works as a backup, but it also caused some Steam init issues that stop features like the Workshop from working. Switching back to the native Linux build should clear that up. What's next I'm keeping an eye on the Linux and macOS builds and will have a patch out soon for the other small errors. Thanks for your patience, and sorry again for the trouble!

  • Thank You for 2000 Wishlists! - 7 September 2026

I am so happy to announce that Dewdrop has hit over 2000 wishlists! When I first started work on this game, that goal seemed impossible, yet here I am. This is my first game, so for this many people to show it so much love is absolutely incredible to me.The game has come a long way. It started out very simple with just the sandbox mode, but it quickly evolved into something much more than I ever could have envisioned. There have been so many lessons along the way. One of the biggest is learning that sometimes what I think is best for the game actually turns out to be pretty bad ːcaptainclownː. Game dev is humbling like that. These past 11 months have been extremely stressful, not just with the game but also with things going on in my life. I'm still really happy that I pushed through and made something a lot of you are genuinely excited for and appreciate. That makes it all worth it to…

  • Devlog #3: Drip Droppin' Along - 12 August 2026

Hey everyone!Got another dev log update for you all. A lot has changed with Dewdrop since the last one. So many little quality of life tweaks have made the gameplay feel smoother, and more polish on the UI has helped everything come together like a complete experience. There's honestly so much that it's hard to decide where to start...Let's kick things off with vine customization. Last time I introduced custom soundbanks, but I've since scrapped that idea and narrowed it down to individual vines. I always knew I wanted players to upload their own vines to the Workshop, but making people build a whole soundbank just to do that felt tedious. So instead you can now create individual vines, name them, and upload them straight to the Steam Workshop. This also came out of some other changes I had to make to the vine instrument menu itself. Before, you had 7 sounds you could select and add FX t…

  • Release Date Delayed to September 18th - 27 July 2026

Hey everyone,I've got some news today. I'm pushing Dewdrop's release back one month, to September 18th.I know a delay isn't what anyone wants to hear, but I'd rather take the extra time now than ship something that isn't fully polished. Dewdrop is feature complete, I'm just in the process of tightening everything up.Honestly, I underestimated how long it would take to finish and playtest over 50 levels. On top of that, since I'm a one man team, I'm also handling trailers, the Steam page, and marketing all on my own, so something had to give. A short delay gives me the room to get it right for you all.Thank you all for the patience and support so far. We are so close now! Just need a little more time to get this into the shape you deserve. I can't wait to hear all of your beautiful creations soon!(I will also be releasing another devlog soon to show you all of the latest changes so stay…

  • Devlog #2: More Ways to Create and Share! - 7 May 2026

Hello everybody! It's been another month since the last update and I've got even more awesome features in development to share with you all! Last time, the demo got a new update with puzzles, quality of life features, and visual improvements. This time, I've been focusing more on the creative and customization side of the game. Please keep in mind these features are a work in progressVine Customization That's right! You can now customize the default vines or create your own. Change the color, glow, leaves/icons, sounds, and appearance of the vines to whatever you like. Save them and experiment with your newly created vines in sandbox mode.Download Feature People have been asking me to add the ability to download their creations as a sound file for a long time now, and I've finally managed to get it implemented! The game stores the last 45 seconds of audio and lets you select a region to…

  • Major Demo Update and News - Puzzles & Blackholes - 1 April 2026

Hello everyone,It's been quite a while since my last update, but I have been hard at work on Dewdrop and I am excited to finally share what is new.As mentioned in my previous post, much of my focus has been on developing the puzzle mode. Until now, the demo has mainly highlighted the sandbox experience, but that is changing with this update.Puzzle mode is now available in the demo, with 12 handcrafted levels to play! These levels are designed to show how the mechanics evolve and become more complex, giving you a solid preview of what to expect in the full game.New FeaturesPuzzle mode with 12 levelsCamera panning and zooming in sandboxVine and spawner options using middle mouseChange spawner color and rateDisable vines and spawnersAdjust vine note and octaveGrab vines and spawners while holding CtrlTrajectory line in sandbox and assisted puzzle modeDifficulty select screen on first puzzl…

  • Thank You For 1000 Wishlists! - 6 February 2026

That's right. We finally hit 1000 wishlists! I seriously can't believe this achievement. Dewdrop will be my first ever game, and to have 1000 people show their love and support is truly incredible. I can't thank you all enough! This encourages me even more to make Dewdrop the game you all envision. As part of this announcement, I wanted to share some progress I've been making on the game. Things have been getting a lot of polish as we get closer to the first playtest. I mentioned the puzzle mode in a previous post, and I've now added a scoring system to it. Here's how it works: every required bounce for a vortex is worth 25 points. Any extra bounces are worth 50 points, and any "incidental bounces" (bounces that aren't part of that colored dewdrop's requirements) are worth 100 points. This incentivizes experimentation during the puzzles. Essentially, the more creative you get with the bo…

  • Dewdrop Demo Patch 2 - 10 January 2026

A new build for the demo has just been released to match more from the full game. Here are the changes.Fixed the vines wobbling infinitely on fresh Steam installs.Fixed glow and animations for each of the vines.Added tooltip to vine select buttons - appears after hovering for a second and tells you what instrument it is.Refactored game UI. Added liquid glass shader to UI.Fixed Global Environment not applying glow to correct layers. - the logo and other elements now have glow properly applied to them.Fixed deleting vines (again) so that it retrieves any overlapping bodies, making deleting easier if you draw a vine and no mouse movement is detected when you right click.Fixed pause button not turning red when the game is paused in various menu states.

  • Dewdrop Devlog #1: Big Changes Ahead and New Mode - 29 December 2025

Figured I'd give this devlog thing a try. A lot has been happening with Dewdrop behind the scenes. Besides doing a ton of marketing (the boring stuff no one wants to hear about), I've been adding lots of new features and fixing bugs. Here are some of the things I've been working on:New Sound Bank: Mushrooms - The next sound bank will feature mushrooms as the "leaves" on the vines, complete with new colors and sounds!Tint Shader - I've replaced the current color correction option with a new tint shader. It makes the visuals a lot easier to see and looks better in my opinion. You can see it in action in the screenshot below.Save/Load GUI Overhaul - The save and load interface is being redesigned to be more creative and aesthetically pleasing.Glass Shader for UI - I've added a glass shader to all of the UI buttons. I know not everyone will like this, so there's an option to disable it, but…

  • We finally did it... - 22 December 2025

It's almost been a month since I released the store page for Dewdrop, and we've already surpassed 100 wishlists!Thank you so much to everyone who has checked out the game and been excited enough to hit that green button. It means a lot to me and makes me even more determined to turn Dewdrop into the best game I can for all of you.I wanted to use this announcement to share some of the future plans for the game. I'll be releasing an update that teases more of what's coming in the full game. Any visual improvements or quality of life changes from the full version will also continue making their way into the demo over time, which you may have noticed I've already started doing. If you haven't tried the demo in a while, give it another shot and see what's new!As for future features, there's a lot planned. Here's a rundown of some of them:Disabling note spawners and vinesA "blank" vine with no…
