- Devlog 4.txt - 5 May 2026
So, in the last devlog, I said I was developing The Last Map demo to release it in June. Since then, a lot has happened. Do you remember how I was going crazy over procedural generation? All that talk about puzzle loops, the difficulty of maintaining cooperation, and making puzzles actually work? Yeah… I made a decision. After one of my playtests to validate the demo with Thales — who’s responsible for the game’s main theme — I was venting about how awful procedural systems can be: complex and frustrating. That’s when he encouraged me to remove it from the game. This idea had been in my head for a long time, but since I had been building it for over a year, I refused to let it go. I had already invested too much time and patience into it. But during that same call, I decided to completely remove it and focus on the narrative. At first, I wasn’t happy about it. But I quickly changed my mind…

- Devlog 3.txt - 17 February 2026
Hello again, Adventurers! I’m here once more, after being away for a few days, to bring updates about the project. As I mentioned in the last Devlog.txt, the current phase of development isn’t very productive — in terms of visual and/or engaging content considering what YouTube tends to require — which explains the lack of interesting news for you. But this is a space for me to share what I’ve been doing regardless of whether it’s interesting to the public or not. If you’re not interested in very technical content, you can simply watch the devlogs on YouTube. There, every episode is designed to appeal not only to people who enjoy more “nerdy” content. But now, let’s talk about what I’ve done over these past 20+ days.YOUTUBE: @pinster43So, let’s start where we left off in the last Devlog.txt — the second one. There, I said I would focus the beginning of the year on polishing as much as p…
- Devlog 2.txt - 13 January 2026
Hello again! In the last four days, I made important additions to The Last Map. In the last text devlog, I said that my focus during the first two months of 2026 is to make everything that already exists in the game polished and close to the final version. What I did in the past few days was add details so that visually empty environments would feel richer, both visually and emotionally. A good example to understand what I’m talking about is the brothers’ house. Before, it had just the essentials—some furniture. Now, it has details like toys on the floor, a messy table, a messy bed… which creates a sense of life, of someone actually living there. These are simple—and few—details. But they make a difference. It’s not something for the player to notice consciously; it’s something designed for the player to feel life.I did the same thing with the bunker puzzles. I added things that enhance…
- Devlog.txt - 10 January 2026
Hello, my dear adventurers, the last development update for The Last Map that I shared was in Devlog episode 13 — which you can watch by clicking the link below. This video was posted at the end of November 2025. Since then, there haven’t been any other updates on the game’s development. The last changes I made to the project weren’t significant — they were important, but not interesting enough to make a video about — so I felt compelled to make a 'log,' at least in text format, here. In fact, I plan to bring regular devlogs here when the development content isn’t interesting enough for a video. That said, let’s get to the news.\My goal during the first two months of this year (January and February) was initially to make all the content in the game one hundred percent functional. Ever since I implemented the first "puzzle" in the game (the levers, episode 5), shortly after, I started try…
