  Online multiplayer is coming back to 1775: Rebellion, rebuilt from the ground up. One player commands the British side, the other the American. The multiplayer screen keeps all your games in one place and shows whose move it is at a glance. Play at your own pace Matches are asynchronous. Take your turn when it suits you and come back when your opponent has moved. The Multiplayer button on the main menu shows a counter when a game is waiting on you, email reminders are there if you want them. Three ways to play Pick a scenario, then choose how to find your opponent. Ranked - matchmaking finds you an opponent of similar strength, and the result counts toward that scenario's ladder. Casual, open - your game is listed in the public lobby for anyone to join. Casual, private - invite a friend through Steam, or share a short invite code. • Game Update v4.2.0 - 23 August 2026

  A new full-screen Strategic Overview gives you a clearer view of the entire campaign. New Strategic Overview Map shows the location and composition of forces across the board. Cities shows city locations and which side currently controls them. Control highlights territorial control across the playable regions. Balance shows the balance of power within each colony. Open the Strategic Overview using the map button, or press G on Windows and macOS. Hover over cities, regions and balance markers for additional information. The game pauses while the Strategic Overview is open, giving you time to assess the situation and plan your next move.

  The largest update to 1775: Rebellion so far. The computer player has been rebuilt from the ground up. Each difficulty now plays its own distinct strategy, and Hard is built for players who want a much more challenging game. Alongside it, the full rulebook now lives inside the game. Improved computer opponent The computer player has been rebuilt, with Hard built for players who want the most demanding game. Easy, Normal and Hard each play their own distinct game, so the difficulty you choose changes how the war is fought against you. Rules The full rulebook is now built into the game. Fixed an issue with the undo during reinforcement placement. Fixed an issue with the event history showing the wrong faction when placing reinforcements.
