  Hey everyone,Apologies for the long hiatus since I announced the next content update. 2026 has continued to be a garbage year... since the last update, my dog passed from cancer and my community got hit by an EF2 tornado. On the positive side, I got my first college degree and my schedule has opened up a bit to continue development on Woodswalker. I have some tangible progress this time:Added an on-screen warning icon indicating when and where (relative to the player) the monster spawns. I realized that far too little was communicated about the monster's behavior, and find that this should greatly help the player gather information.Updated (most) in-game achievements to have visible descriptions before unlocking. • Major Content Update Progress Report - 21 February 2026

  Hello everyone,This posts references a previous community post. If you haven't seen it yet, you can check it out here: Unfortunately, the past month or so has been pretty horrendous in my personal life with lots of illness and lots of loss as well - my girlfriend and I have had to euthanize both of her cats within the span of a week. Managing my full-time coursework with grief has been a challenge and I've had little free time to work on the update, and as of right now I can't give a good timeframe for its release.   Hello everyone,Over the past two weeks, I've been pretty frantic about updating the game with bug fixes and minor additions to solve some relatively large issues at launch (notably clarity, accessibility, and death-related bugs). If you weren't aware, this is my first game and is entirely solo-developed, so I'm very grateful for everyone who gave respectful feedback, both good and bad, and am trying to learn everything I can. That being said, I believe that most of the major problems at release have been dealt with, and now I can focus on one of the game's other problems: depth of gameplay. At the moment, the player's actions are pretty much limited to answering the fax/phone and scaring away the monster, and going back and forth between the two constantly. • v2.2.0 Update - Cassette Transcripts, Jumpscare Fix (Finally), Tape Changes - 29 January 2026

  Hello everyone,Version 2.2.0 will be live as of this post. There are three major changes:Added transcripts for each of the cassette tapes. Common feedback said that the tapes were a little hard to understand, so this should remedy that. A button will appear under unlocked tapes.FINALLY fixed a bug where the monster's branch would not appear during the jumpscare for some users, making it extremely lame and making me feel physical pain every time I watch someone's recording of the game. This bug has lasted so long because I don't own any hardware that the bug occurs on. However, after reviewing the code, I believe it should finally be squashed.Adjusted the audio of Tape 1 for a more streamlined opening. • Update 2.1.0 - In-Game Video Tutorial & Difficulty Adjustment - 25 January 2026

  Hello everyone!Reviewing some feedback, I decided that the game could use some more clarity on its core mechanics. As such, I have added a new optional video tutorial that should explain things further. To access the tutorial, on the main menu, select How to Play (which has replaced the Controls button) and then select Play Tutorial. With this update, I have also implemented a few difficulty changes:- Increased the time before the monster begins hunting. This gives the player more time to prepare before the monster begins hunting.- Reduced randomization on the time between messages (fax/phone). This should make the timing of incoming messages more predicable and provide less opportunity of screwing the player.- Slightly decreased the amount of messages received.
