  • Where I've Been - 8 September 2026

Uh... Oops!Hi all! I didn't think I'd be gone for a hot minute like this after publishing ACoMI's demo. I promise I didn't forget about the game! I'm not one of those people who drops a demo/early access/beta build and ignores it for 5 years straight. I told myself I'd take a little break after finishing up on ACoMI's demo, work on another little project for a game jam during the rest of July, and I'd be back to work by August!Well. Ah. That project wasn't exactly little, once I finished the script. It's called Until Death Do We Part, and I ended up working all the way through July, August and the first week of September. I published it literally six hours before the jam ended! I'm very tired. I thought this script would be 8,000 words at most. I might actually put Until Death on Steam at some point, come to think of it; of course, the Steam release would get extra goodies to make it wor…

  • July 15th Demo Bug Fix - 15 July 2026

Heads up: Transferring save files on this build is kind of wonky! It's HIGHLY recommended to manually transfer them over yourself before installing this update. You can do so via right clicking the demo -> Manage -> Browse local files -> save -> and copying ALL the files over to a safe place before updating, and then putting it back in the save folder. I do mean all the files, including config.rmmz and global.rmmz. Those are the files that manage what the game remembers in between saves, including things like Gallery unlocks, checking which Distortions you've met so far, etc.Highly recommended to uninstall and reinstall the demo after backing up your save files. Just...flush out the messed up parts and start anew. Hopefully patches after this should be more manageable on everyone's ends.Uh... whoops! Hi all, you should be getting a minor patch fix any time now.Changed the description fo…

  • A Case of Missing Identity's Demo is Live!! - 14 July 2026

Hi all! Did you know it's the 1 year anniversary of my first game, Veins Like Tapeworms? To celebrate, I'M RELEASING ACOMI'S DEMO! That's right, this demo is finally LIVE! With over 25,000 words of content - Act 1 and the first half of Act 2, all 5 Distortions to meet, and so on and so forth - you're sure to have at least a moderately decent time with what I've been working on for a solid 6 months now. Please don't be afraid to tell me your thoughts in the Discussions forum; every little bit helps me so much to make the full ACoMI the best it can be.Play it now!! Go!!!!By the way, if you liked ACoMI and want to try out more of my work, Veins Like Tapeworms is running a sale for 30% off! That's the lowest it's ever been!

  • A Case of Missing Identity's Demo is Coming Soon!! - 30 May 2026

Hey all! This devlog is a little early, but that’s for a good reason! Mind if I throw my hands up in celebration for a bit?HAHAHAHAHA! We’re at the home stretch! Literally all that’s left for me at this point is a ton of bug-testing! I’ve gotten it all done - art, scripting, writing, the whole works! I just have to make sure ACoMI’s demo doesn’t implode the moment you boot it up! From this moment forward, I feel comfortable to say that the demo for A Case of Missing Identity has a release date:July 14th, 2026!If, for some insane reason, I have to push this back, you’ll all hear about it as soon as I realize it’s impossible. But! As of right now, I’m on track to perfectly line up the release with VLT’s 1-year anniversary!I’ve done so much this month, but let’s run through a little bit of what I’ve been up to, shall we?Finally got a Steam page set up for the demo and got an official relea…

  • Progress Update #3 - May 2026 - 1 May 2026

Hey all!I think we’re nearing the completion of the demo finally. I’m not going to make any promises of “the demo WILL drop tomorrow or I’m a rotten egg,” but I’m starting to have a really good feeling about this! I’ve gotten a lot of art done, scripted a lot of chunks I haven’t been looking forward to, and I’ve even had some time to write more of the post-demo bits as well! Finally finished Draconic Mania’s sprite!! It was a lot easier and a lot more difficult than I expected (which sounds weird, but detailing him was the easy part, and just getting him to fit on the screen some of the time was a nightmare). I’m actually really pleased with how he came out - I like being able to open and close his jaw on a per-expression basis, and his “body” poses, the tail positions, are really easy to make more of. If I ever need to expand on DM’s pose amount, I imagine it’d be a lot easier than, sa…

  • Progress Update #2 - April 2026 - 1 April 2026

Hey all!Glad I didn’t make the same mistake I did with VLT in announcing a date before I get it set in stone, because it happened again. I didn’t realize how much I had left to do, actually! I’m only just now 100% finishing up with Act 1 (CGs, sprites, and other things I’ve missed along the way) and cleaning up the main meat of Act 2’s Human encounter. There’s a lot of stuff I’ve been working on behind the scenes that can’t really be explained in a simple devlog, so we’re going to stick to the stuff that can be shown off on a social media post.Added something new and interesting to Act 2 - back sprites! I’ve always loved visual novels that gave you more than just a flat head-on direction for character sprites, so that’s something I wanted to do for ACoMI as well. I’ll probably add them in to Act 3 once I get the demo up and running, but for now this should make the cinematography feel c…

  • Progress Update #1 - March 2026 - 1 March 2026

Hey all!One of the things I think I could've improved on with the development cycle of my first game, Veins Like Tapeworms, was making sure less people were kept in the dark about how it was going. To be honest, I'm not too great at posting regularly on social media and reaching out to people to play my game — I'm good at chucking bite-sized updates out into the void (first on Twitter and then BlueSky), but long-form stuff is just something I'm not familiar with. So, with that said, I'd like to get into the flow of things with monthly progress updates! I figured it'd look nice to have something come out on ACoMI's Steam page every now and then, so it doesn't wrongfully look like the game is abandoned or anything.Let’s talk about ACoMI, and the things I’ve been doing with it since getting the Steam page up!Finished putting the first half of Act 2’s script in the engine! I’m not done with…
