- Dev Log 2 Dice System - 4 February 2026
Dice System - How Dice Work in Paper Rogue In Paper Rogue, dice are not an abstract RNG hidden in the background. - Devlog #1 – Paper Rogue is now on Steam - 16 January 2026
At the end of last year, we started experimenting with how to rethink a classic dungeon crawl. That exploration eventually shaped into Paper Rogue - a hand-drawn, first-person roguelike where you can control randomness itself. Instead of hiding chance behind invisible dice rolls, Paper Rogue makes dice physical. They have weight, inertia, and durability and they directly affect combat, traps, abilities, and progression. One of our main design goals is to give players systems that can instantly change the situation in a dungeon - improving it at the risk of making it worse.Every decision is a choice: push your luck or play it safe. In our next dev logs, we will share more details about this system.Stay in touch - and if you like the idea, consider wishlisting Paper Rogue on Steam.Oh, also there is a video
