- Patch notes: Minor multiplayer fixes - 20 August 2026
Small fixes made to improve players multiplayer experiences if they have a weak internet or poor connection to the server. Hosts will now be prompted in game if there is a guest with a better connection to the server and will be given the option to promote them to lobby lead. Thank you to everyone who has bought SHED so far!Game mode update:Bullet mode has been slightly altered: The timers to play a card (3 second and then 2 seconds) when the deck was empty may have been a little too ambitious, so we’ve changed those timers to 5 seconds and 3 seconds.Quality of life:Added a join sound in multiplayer lobbies, triggered when a player joins.Improved controller navigation in the tournament bracket window for both multiplayer and single player.Tournaments can now be started with Square or X.Bug fix:Controller/touchscreen players can now complete the final exam when facing the Librarian. Some technical bits:Reduced the amount of times SHED game state was sent to the server from the Host, reducing the overall amount of traffic between the relay and the players. This should lower the CPU load on the Host and speed up host migration if required.Capped main menu animati…

- Quality of life upgrade before launch: faster multi card selection - 22 June 2026
Ahead of launch we’ve been working through the demo feedback. One of the biggest pain points was selecting multiple cards when players had 10+ cards in hand, especially in Bullet mode.To fix that, we’ve added double‑click selection for matching card values. You can now double‑click using:MouseKeyboardControllerTouch screensThe full version of SHED launches tomorrow, Tuesday 23 June at 8.00am BST.
- SHED Next Fest patch: Faster turns, proper animations, happier guests - 19 June 2026
What a week we’ve had at Steam Next Fest so far, with 100s more signing up for the demo we’ve picked up on a couple of bugs that needed fixing ahead of release.WAITING…….. WAITING…… Playing an illegal move in multiplayer as a guest will no longer result in waiting….wating… as the game tries to send your move to the server > players > server > you. This delay was causing a 2-5 second delay in cards being played in multiplayer games. We’ve been able to implement a really small gate that prevents clients from sending illegal moves to the server, significantly speeding up those pauses some have experienced in multiplayer.ANIMATIONSThe code was reading some guests as non-human players, and decided it wasn’t worth playing the card deal, pick up, play, and burn animations.Guests of multiplayer lobbies have now been deemed worthy by the code and will now get all of the in game animations. This ma…
- SHED – Next Fest Demo Broadcast - 15 June 2026
A live broadcast of the SHED Next Fest demo. Gameplay, modes, and a look at what’s new.
- Major multiplayer update: Just in time for Steam Next Fest! - 14 June 2026
We’ve made loads of improvements to multiplayer ahead of Next Fest to make lobbies smoother, matches faster, and reconnecting less painful.Players can now join an active standard match as spectators. If you’re late to the party, you can still jump in, watch the game live, and you’ll be added to the lobby automatically when the match ends (as long as there’s space). To help hosts keep things tidy, you can now kick players directly from the lobby list. We’ve also reduced both the swap phase and turn timer to 20 seconds. This keeps matches moving and stops one player from stalling the whole lobby.AFK behaviour has been improved too. If someone gets pulled away from their PC, they’re no longer booted straight to the menu. After a couple of missed turns, they’re moved into spectator mode instead, and the host can decide what to do with them once the match ends. Finally, connected players always…
- New tutorial live - learn to play SHED in 3 minutes - 13 June 2026
Thank you to the first streamers to broadcast SHED live! You can check them out on Twitch below: New tutorial - Learn to play in 3 minutes!Following some of the feedback we’ve received we've overhauled the way our Tutorial works. The walls of text walking you through the card game was no good, hard to remember, and a bit off putting. So we’ve now stripped and split the tutorial into two parts:Part 1 – scripted play, removing the walls of text, clearly identifying the aim of the game and walking you through each card does.Part 2 – A free play round, you get to play the first full round with the script turned off, we’ve added a couple of helpers to remind you what 2,3,7, and 10 do.The Tutorial session takes 2-3 minutes to complete, and then you’re ready to play. We’d highly recommend a few single player games and maybe a single player tournament whilst you get used to the rule set before hop…

- Small Demo Patch (04 June 2026) - 3 June 2026
Following feedback from demo players, we’ve updated how the player avatar area behaves. Your avatar now lights up in the same way as opponent avatars when it’s your turn. This should make it much easier to track turn order at a glance, especially during fast rounds or when multiple cards hit the pile quickly. If you spot anything else that feels unclear, could be improved, or looks like a bug, please let us know in our Steam discussion thread. Any feedback is incredibly helpful ahead of Next Fest and the full launch on June 23rd.
