- Occlude is OUT NOW! - 10 July 2025
Hello, all ye faithful!Today sees the launch of Occlude, the latest release from me and everyone else at Tributary Games. I wrote the game narrative, top to bottom, so if you liked the writing in AHOMD I hope there's something for you here as well.I'm really pleased with how this came together - it's a jigsaw puzzle plot, with a lot going on behind the scenes (I wrote a 30,000 word setting bible that only I have ever laid eyes on, and only about half of which actually made it into the main game). My philosophy was to provide tiny intermittent windows into a vast and complex tale, gradually revealing the full scope of the story. Lore hounds will love this one. Also, fans of esoteric puzzles. It's a very different narrative experience from A House of Many Doors, but it features some familiar themes - dread, cosmic horror, time shenanigans, all that good stuff.Check it out! And don't forget…
- 2.3 Update Changelog - 22 July 2024
- The amount of apprehensions one can get from poetry no longer correlates to Esoterica stat, in order to avoid a massive exploit; - Fixed one small borked branch of election concern during Gallows Minister's interview; - Amended one miniscule inconsistency during Violante's concern; - Buyable Scrutinies now properly remove Reproach; - Fixed limitations on stat advancement for two crew members (was unintentionally transferred from the mod); - A certain embassy in the City of Keys can be visited only once per visit now; - Error in Laudanum's pricing is fixed.

- V2.0 Update Incoming! - 10 November 2023
Greetings, denizens and visitants. I bring some fantastic news to brighten your November. As most of you may already know, there's an unofficial patch for House of Many Doors, created by an incredibly talented and hard-working fan named Altotas. The patch fixes a huge number of bugs and adds some new content to the game. Well, Altotas contacted me behind-the-scenes recently. He has very kindly offered to let me add his bugfixes to the Steam game. (The added content will remain exclusive to the fan patch, though I encourage you to download and try it out!) What does this mean? Well, on the 21st November - to coincide with the Autumn Sale - I'll be updating the game for the first time in, oh God, 6ish years. A bunch of annoying bugs will finally be fixed, and some quality-of-life improvements will be added as well. Happy exploring! However, one thing to note is that this update will break…

- The Unofficial Patch - 20 June 2022
Hello, all. Long time no see! Apologies for the long absence. I'm just posting to draw your attention to an unofficial patch created by a HOMD fan named Altotas. This patch restores some content that I had to cut for time, as well as fixing a few long-standing bugs and implementing a number of handy features designed to reduce gameplay friction. Installing is easy enough - just download, then copy the "data.win" file and "Images" folder to the "Steam\steamapps\common\A House of Many Doors" folder, overwriting the file when asked if you want to do so. Huge thanks to Altotas for all their hard work! If you're curious what I've been up to for the last few years, feel free to check out their transcript of the AMA I ran on the HOMD fan Discord.
- V1.2 Update: All's Well - 29 March 2017
This momentous update finally fixes all the bugs I know about on Windows, apart from a few lingering and very hard-to-fix ones that are unique to specific machines. (If you have one of these, please let me know.) Bugs fixed are as follows: - Fixed dependency issues preventing progress in the Abbas Salem quest. - Fixed some issues with exploring the Shambles in the Dreams of the Dancing God storyline. This wasn't bugged content, it was just very punishingly difficult and quite badly designed to begin with. I think I must have been very sleep-deprived when I came up with this. Made some simple changes that improve the quest progression tenfold. - Added a way to sell Sleepless Wretches from your cargo. - Fixed a minor dependency issue in the procedural Journalism quests. - Fixed a broken dialogue option in the Morbazar storyline. - Fixed blank-screen dialogue bug in the Nicholas storyline.…

- V1.19 Update: Rebindable Keys - 18 March 2017
Hi all, Sorry for the absence over the last few weeks - I couldn't maintain that bugfixing rate, and I ended up crashing a little. But now I'm back! The latest HOMD update adds rebindable keys, a much-requested feature. It also fixes a major CTD issue unique to the Mac build of the game which was unfortunately introduced in the V1.18 update. There are still a few bugs that I wasn't able to fix for this version and that I'm going to work on over the next few days, most notably the Abbas storyline and a few difficult-to-diagnose dependency issues in the Journalism quests. Those should be fixed in the next update. I'm looking forward to V1.2 - at that point, I think A House of Many Doors will be fully stable, and I can take a step back for a month or two and start planning new content updates and potentially my next major project after HOMD. Other minor fixes in this update: - Fixed a bug…
