- Roadclub: League Racing will go completely free march 21st - 17 March 2022
Hello racers! As mentioned in previous posts Roadclub: League Racing will soon be completely free. And now we have a date: March 21st! It's been great talking to everyone who found the game for the first time when we announced it would be free. A few of you asked for the final sale which is now over but you also put your money where your mouth is and bought almost as many copies in two weeks as people had bought in the entire 3 years since release! You also said many nice things about the game and about us, so thank you so much! See you in a few days :) Sincerely, Devs Benny and Ralf
- Final highest-ever-90%-sale for the fans! - 22 February 2022
Hello racers! As mentioned in the previous post Roadclub: League Racing will soon be completely free. But several players requested a final sale - so here it is! Our highest sale until now was 80% so we're maxing it out at 90% for about two weeks. Thanks for all your support and kind words over the years. We're proud of our work and tried our best to make a fun game for players. One day we may come back stronger but for now we'll shut down the company and let everyone enjoy the game for free in a few weeks. Sincerely, Devs Benny and Ralf
- Roadclub: League Racing will be free and open source - 20 February 2022
Hello racers! The game is no longer worth maintaining as a paid title but we still wish for as many players as possible to enjoy our work. So, we're hereby announcing that the game will converted to free within a couple of weeks, and even better - we're planning to make it open source later this year so we can give anyone the possibility to learn from our code and project in the future. We think we did some cool things with this game. Hope this is good news for you all. If you recently paid for the game and wish to refund it you can do so if you haven't played for more than the steam refund rules. For anyone who keeps the game, thank you a lot for your support! And for everyone else who has played and enjoyed the game over the years - thank you! We'll update here when the conversion is complete and when and where you can obtain the source and play around with it yourselves. Have a good…
- New Update v1.47 "Editor UI and Birds" live! - 7 April 2019
Hello racers! It's been exactly 3 months since the game released already and we'll celebrate this with a huge update to the Track Editor and 30% OFF the game for a week so new people can join the fun (starting monday April 8th)! We also had some fun and added birds to some tracks to liven them up a little. Hope you enjoy! New and improved! Completely redesigned Track editor UI, added dynamic checklist and contextual help and show keys more clearly in the UI to make it much easier to make tracks! Added bird flocks for some less static tracks :) Several optimizations to sprite rendering As always, post feedback in discussions or join our discord and post there. We want to hear everything you think about the game and the update, big or small, crash or annoyance! /Benny
- RockPaperShotgun names Roadclub one of the "best new games too few people are playing" - 31 January 2019
We're very honored and proud to be recognized this way by a well-known games outlet like RPS. Check out the full article here: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2019/01/28/unknown-pleasures-a-chinese-new-year/
- Unknown Pleasures: A Chinese New Year - 28 January 2019
Strange things are afoot in steamgamesland. A powerful new force has begun to show its face on Western shores. Hailing from the tiny island nation of China, a wave of intrepid indie developers are shaking off a variety of undeserved reputations and delivering a solid fifth* of the shortlist of games we consider for Unknown Pleasures , the roundup of the best new games too few people are playing. But did any of them make the final cut? Is this the beginning of a bright new era following Steam’s recent controversies? And are any of them bloody roguelikes? Adhering to the rule of three this week: non-dwarven fortresses, kindhearted fireflies, and China, China, CHINA. (more…)
- New Update v1.46 "Particle Ops" live! - 18 January 2019
Hello racers! The past 10 days since release we've neither been lazy nor rolled in cash, we have kept busy studying all content produced around the game to find things we can fix to improve the game. New and improved! Added "Unfair" difficulty where AI cars get increased grip and have no hampering logic applied at all compared to the player. Rewrote cloud layer to be more optimized and produce more and smaller clouds. Optimized particle effects. This should lighten cpu load a bit which seems to be the source of the most common performance issues. Removed oil hidden oilslick on Treetop Raceway Patched hole in the fence on Woodland Loop Game now saves before a league race in case something happens to minimize progress loss Minor UI polish As always, post feedback in discussions or join our discord and post there. We want to hear everything you think about the game and the update, big or s…

- Roadclub: League Racing is OUT NOW! - 8 January 2019
Hello everyone! Roadclub is released to the world! 4 years of development whereof 2 years in early access and over 40 updates taking care to listen to all your feedback we've come a long way since the original release in 2008. We hope you enjoy the game! As always, post feedback in discussions or join our discord and post there. We want to hear everything you think about the game and the update, big or small, crash or annoyance! Much love /Ralf and Benny
- New update v1.45 "Day -1 Patch" live! - 7 January 2019
Hello! A few streamers got their hands on the game a couple of days ahead of launch and this update addresses a few frame drops and fixes issues with weather, grip and UI. See you tomorrow for the launch post! /Benny
- Release date announced! Also v1.44 "D-4 Patch" live! - 4 January 2019
Hello racers! This is it. This will be the launch version of Roadclub. I can't believe its finally time to exit early access and launch the game into the wild as a released title! Roadclub will be launched January 8th 2019 - exactly 2 years since the early access launch. We thought it would be a fitting date :) There's tons more we would have liked to do but we think 2 years in early access is more than enough. Doing everything we wanted for this game would've easily taken 10+ years. And due to recent confusion I'd like to be very clear that we haven't made any promises at all for future updates, this might be it but we'd like to do a couple more community requested things and a couple of our own ideas if time and energy allows. We're both out of holidays and will be going back to our regular jobs next week so time will again be extremely limited. The price has also been updated to our…
- New update v1.43 "Release Candidate Too" live! - 21 December 2018
Hello racers! Testing has gone quite well and we haven't received much feedback since the last update so it's looking pretty good for launch. We've mostly been tweaking, balancing and polishing a little more and included a couple of community suggestions. Check out the full release notes below! Please also note as per our Early Access policy the price will increase to full price ($9.99) some time before launch so take this opportunity at the Steam Winter Sale to buy the game very cheap! It won't be this cheap for a very long time now! New and improved! The game now has an option for fixed camera zoom level and saves it if changed in-game (community suggestion) Darkened and lowered contrast on a couple of ground textures to lower risk of motion sickness (community suggestion) Added warning to car shop for RWD cars since they are much harder to control (community suggestion) Made further…
- New update v1.42 "Release Candidate One" live! - 24 November 2018
Hello everyone! It's been a while but we have really good news. Roadclub is done! We're considering this the first release candidate. We'll now be focusing on your final feedback round from playing this update. We really need your help testing this one because it might be the build being played by everyone buying the game after launch. This means that we will only fix game-breaking bugs like crashes and progress impeding issues and maybe a few UI issues. Please also note as per our Early Access policy the price will increase to full price ($9.99) to prepare for launch after the autumn sale. New! Rebuilt the career mode Roadclub League with all the available (not too arcadey) tracks. Create a new driver and play the final career mode! Added 2 new tracks: Novice Run and Transition Loop, both included in career Added 11 achievements! Improved AI pathing, boosting, braking and general decis…
- Development Resumed! - 22 October 2018
Hi guys! Just wanted to let you know that we've slowly resumed development after our break. We're aiming for an update this year but we will take our time with this one to not burn ourselves out again. Thank you for your understanding. The next update will include an updated career mode with the final track list and a few feature changes and fixes. Stay tuned right here and we'll update you when we're getting closer! Keep on racin'! /Benny
- Autumn Status Update - On Hold - 22 August 2018
Hello Racers! Our vacations are over, we're back to work but we unfortunately have to start with some bad news. We're not abandoning the game but the TLDR is we need to slow down and take a break. We've been silent a couple of weeks trying to figure out how to handle this project in the near future. We take pride in all the nice messages and reviews appreciating our transparency, dedication to solving the issues you've had and always improving the game guided by your feedback and so we want continue to be completely honest. From the outside it might seem like we were pretty slow coming out with new updates and we've been in early access for 1½ years which is pretty long for an indie game. The game is coming together but personally I'd like a couple more years to polish the game to my vision. That is not feasible but one can dream. Anyway, from our perspective we feel like we've done eve…
- New update v1.41 "Bow to the Input Master" live! - 3 July 2018
Hello racers! This was meant to be a small update with a few more input options but we went a bit crazy with it. Our main improvement is the new "Input Settings" options screen where you now can tweak how steering input works generally and at different speeds down to detail and also visualize the input response curve! This gives you AAA-level control over the steering and should help you tweak it to your preference to minimize unwanted spins during the races. See the details in the release notes below and in this tweet: https://twitter.com/roadclubgame/status/1012811139791622145 New! Introducing Input Settings screen! Here you can see and tweak every aspect of how steering input is processed. Added deadzone setting. Added saturation steering setting. Added linearity steering setting. Added steering input curve visualization. Reintroduced steering attack option. Rewrote player steering i…

Celebrating 6th june, Sweden's National Day, we are part of a big sale of swedish-made games! We continue our tradition of having the game 30% off in various sales to expand the player base. - New update v1.40 "Steering Speed" live! - 30 May 2018
Hello racers! A smaller update today but very important! This update gives you a speed steering options that controls how much your input applies depending on speed plus makes some changes to the handling that should make it way easier to control cars at high speed as well as easier to control RWD cars. Hopefully without making what was good about the handling worse. We're eager to hear your thoughts! New! Improved handling to make it easier to control cars at speed and while drifting. Reintroduced Speed Steering option which limits amount of steering input at high speeds so it is easier to keep control of the car. A few smaller performance improvements. Fixed Fixed cars sometimes not getting off the starting line and other ca…
