- PolyTown Devlog #8 - Water system visuals & Music - 26 June 2026
Good Friday everyone! We finally have some news to share with you all!The scope of this sprint was to add all the visualizations needed to be able to place and manage the water system. As we talked in the past, the system is quite deep and it consists of multiple pieces. We approached this with generic code that takes more time to write, but then can be reused later with the other systems. The downside is that it takes us more time to complete and so we have less to share with you, but in the end it will pay off since we're gonna go faster on the other systems. To better understand the visualizations we advise having a look at this blogpost where we explained the design of the water systemRead the full post on our website.
- PolyTown Devlog #7 - Polishing the new network system - 29 May 2026
Good Friday everyone! Unfortunately, today we have not so much to talk about. There is no issue with the game, but we had simply to work on another project with maximum priority. This will be the case also for the next two weeks but after that we will be back on track! By the way we've been able to at least polish the new network system we've talked about in the previous devlog.Read the full post on our website.
- PolyTown Devlog #6 - Diagonals and elevations - 15 May 2026
Hello, fellow mayors! Today we're in a bit of a rush. This morning we've reached the desired point of something that has been requested from many players. It has been very fun to develop even though we had to squeeze our brains to find a way to do it correctly. We are talking about diagonals and elevations!Read the full post on our website.
- PolyTown Devlog #5 - Water & UI - 24 April 2026
Hello there, finally we are here to talk about how your citizens could drink safe water! We’re still implementing it so we’ll be able to show you in action next time.Read the full post on our website.
- PolyTown Devlog #4 - Services, population and traffic - 10 April 2026
Hello dear mayors! We are happy to announce that the core loop of the game has been completed! Now we are able to lay down roads, zone areas to decide where buildings must appear and to update RCI demand so you can repeat these steps until there's no room for more. What we knew from the beginning was that we needed a solid foundation before moving to implement specific mechanics (like criminality, healthcare, garbage, ...). So finally during the next weeks we will be able to work on standalone systems, basically the most interesting parts where we want to have deeper mechanics, and we're very excited about that!Read the full post on our website.
- PolyTown Devlog #3 - The RCI demand core system - 27 March 2026
Happy Friday everyone! We finally tackled the second core system of the game! These last two weeks were about the foundation of the RCI system, the demand creation and consumption!Read the full post on our website.
- PolyTown Devlog #2 - Roads, roads, roads... - 26 March 2026
Good Friday everyone! This is our first devlog about what we worked on in the last two weeks and we never talked about our intentions on how to tackle the development of PolyTown so, first of all, let's talk about that.During the preproduction phase, which ended with the announcement of PolyTown, we investigated the visual style of the game, its mechanics and what could have been done by a team of two developers. We decided that a classic city builder with deeper mechanics was preferable than another game genre, both for the market and for us, so we settled down the design and now we're ready for the big part of the development: laying down the various systems taking into account visual appealing, expandability, maintenance and performance.Read the full post on our website.
