- Lizard State's 2nd Playtest Announcement! - 8 July 2026
Hey Lizards! It has now been almost two months since the last playtest already and enough progress has been made to warrant a new playtest. It will be the exact same level as before, however you will be able to experiment with all the new mechanics added ever since, including body carrying, guards kicking doors, improved CQC with counters, and a ton of other tweaks and improvements (which you can read at the end of this post and in the first Devlog which you can read here). If you haven't given the playtest a go, now is your chance to give Lizard State a go!The playtest will be available from July 9th to July 15th. Your feedback will be incredibly valuable. I wanna find bugs, get your feedback on the new mechanics, and hear your ideas! Let's make a good game together. I recorded 10 minutes of gameplay where I try to showcase most of that stuff. Hope you can do better ;) Since the last d…
- Devlog#1: Body carrying, door kicking and bug fixing - 11 June 2026
Hey there! It's been a little while since the last update on Lizard State, so I figured I might do a small post on what's been going on since the end of the playtest. NEW MECHANIC : BODY CARRYING Probably the most requested feature of the playtest. So here it is! Took some tweaks but it's finally working. I especially like the bit of ragdolling when moving around with the body. See it here: NEW MECHANIC: DOOR KICKING Not many asked about it but I wanted to implement it for a while hehe So now, if you're blocking a door, guards will kick it down and send you flying away! See it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SJT-OOseVkY ---- On top of that, I've been spending a lot of time working on bugs and QOL things that should really improve the experience. I wanted to get those things out of the way before tackling additional features. ROLLING Rolling is now done by Holding the Crou…
- Lizard State's first playtest - a postmortem - 20 May 2026
What a week! As stressful as it was, putting Lizard State for everyone to try worked so well, considering the game is early in development. All the feedback received, the nice conversations and the support has been incredible to say the least! Some statsThe playtest had well over 2.000 unique players and more than 800 feedback forms were submitted! What's cool is that you spent on average 45 minutes playing the demo, and over 100 people spent more than 2 hours playing the game! It's wild considering it contained a single, shorter, level. Watching streams and speedruns was incredibly useful to track down mean bugs and to see how people approach the game (some in full stealth, others very, very lethally). It also felt surreal seeing people being fully immersed in this little game I've been making in my room for the past year. Survey Here are some remarks about the overall game: - the game…
