- Patch 1.04 - 30 June 2026
Patch Notes: Critical Fix: Fixed a progression bug where Ruby would fail to give the wrapped book if the player's inventory was full. - Demo Playthrough - 25 May 2026
Hey, potential Shared Land Agricultural Engineers! It feels like the time for Dev Diaries might be coming to an end. Yesterday I changed up the main character's idle animation. The old one looked a bit hunched, and I didn't like it. So now they stand up straight when standing still. A nice changed, but... hardly a gripping story of the game coming together. That's where we're at. Small changes for polish. I'm feeling good about where Agraria is, but these last couple of weeks will likely be filled with teeny (boring) polish. If I find myself overhauling anything, or building new systems from scratch, I'm probably in trouble. But the demo is out! (Yay!) If you're curious, I encourage you to give it a try. It's pretty low investment, and gives you a good feel of the very basic Agraria loop. But if you're a watcher... well, let me try to help!Demo Playthrough with the DevThis video shows the…
- Agraria Demo Released - 17 May 2026
Hey, Shared Land Agricultural Engineers!Hello, hello, HELLO!!Oh my GOODNESS. I have been waiting to send this email for MONTHS (possibly YEARS... possibly my ENTIRE CAREER...) and now it is finally happening and I am literally TYPING WITH SHAKING HANDS!!The Agraria Inc. New Partner Trial Program is officially OPEN, which means YOU (yes YOU, the person reading this!) can become a Shared Land Agricultural Engineer starting RIGHT NOW. No commitment! No long-term contract! Just a beautiful little cottage, a beautiful little plot of land, and the FIRST steps of an agricultural career you'll never forget!!!Now I have been told - and I am QUOTING here - that this trial program "represents a limited preview of the Agraria Inc. partnership experience and is not a guarantee of long-term placement." That's what Legal made me put. Personally I think if you try it and you love it (and I SO hope you…
- Dev Diary 5/11 - 11 May 2026
Dev Diary 5/11Isolation & IntrospectionHi, prospective Shared Land Agricultural Engineers! It's been another busy week of hunting down late-game bugs and squashing them. A few standout casualties of the Battle of the Bugs:Sometimes Juniper would spawn floating a foot off the ground. They enjoyed this, but it was distracting.Chaff left by the Push Cultivator glowed in the dark. It was never meant to be radioactive.Barley Cake was listed as a "desert." Nonsense. It's a breakfast food. What was I thinking?I've also gotten a few questions from people who've tried the game, or are curious about it. One really got me thinking, and where better to type out my thinking than here?Where is everybody? So, I've mentioned before that isolation was a major aspect of Agraria from the start, but I've never really mentioned why, and I'm not sure I've sat on that fully. It's not that there are no people in…
- Agraria Dev Diary 5/5 - 5 May 2026
The Perils of PineapplesSo, I'm balancing late-game content. It's not the most exciting work, but I'm still sometimes amazed at the one-more-day effect Agraria has, even after months of being immersed in the project. But sometimes I'm reminded that I am really, really new to this world. So, I wake up, another day on the farm. I'm working on the Rank 8 Trial to unlock the Automated Distributor, a warehouse machine that automatically sends its inventory to any processing plants that need the ingredients. I've already delivered the required bagged salad. All that's left: 20 units of Fruit Cocktail.I walk outside my cottage and... OH. WOW.Framerate PLUMMETS. I mean, from an easy 60 FPS normally to the teens. Absolute slideshow. And I have NO IDEA WHY.I'll spare you the slow task of narrowing down the culprit. An hour later, I figure it out.Pineapples.Specifically, when I created the harvestab…
- Dev Diary 4/20 - 20 April 2026
Hello, Prospective Shared Land Agricultural Engineers! This has been a week of beta bug clean-up mostly, which is boring, so it's the perfect opportunity to talk about systems that you will hopefully find less boring!Progression in AgrariaA lot of balancing work went into the progression system this week - making sure rewards feel earned but not punishing. A few people have asked me about progression in Agraria, so I thought I'd lay out the two primary progression systems.CM3K - Cultivation Motivation 3000Agraria Inc.'s primary professional development program, CM3K is available to all partners as soon as you arrive at your farm. There are rumored to be eight ranks of agricultural mastery, though only five will be available from the beginning. Each rank is made up of a number of trials. Fulfilling the final trial at each tier unlocks the next rank, but every trial unlocks something - new…
- Agraria Dev Diary 4/12 - 12 April 2026
Hello, prospective Shared Land Agricultural Engineers! It's been another busy week. A lot of balance testing happening, especially at the higher ranks, when there's a lot going on. This resulted in a few complete system rebalances, but the end result has been a smoother progression with fewer slow spots. I want unlocks to feel earned but not punishing, and sometimes that's a surprisingly tricky tightrope! There are a few highlights that are less boring than spreadsheets full of seasonal pricing, though!JuniperJuniper is one of the NPCs who visits your farm on occasion. They're a botanist and hobbyist gardener, and they'll come by looking for wild crops. This week I made their visits a bit more fortuitous for the player.Wild crops grow in the undeveloped land surrounding your farm. They're rare, but when you come across one, you can harvest it for seeds. If you plant those seeds and grow…
- Dev Diary 4/4 - 4 April 2026
Hi, prospective Shared Land Agricultural Engineers! It's been a productive week of working on Agraria, and hopefully we're nearing the point where the demo is ready to roll out. Most of the work has been balancing and polishing. The little things that make the game work just a bit better. Increasing the payout for private orders that offer Aggies (the game's general currency), livening up sunsets, preserving key emails... that sort of thing. But a few big changes have snuck in as well! The Harvest FestivalThe harvest festival kept getting mentioned in various tangential ways - podcasts talk about events, there's a trial that tasks you with supplying the event (hello, pumpkins!), etc. But it never really OCCURRED for the player. Now, it does, in a very Agraria way! You'll get an email informing you of the upcoming event on Fall 20. A delivery crate will appear on your farm, and you can put o…
