- Update Status - 26 March 2025
Well well well, it's been a while hasn't it. In fact well over a year since the last news! But I am here today to tell you this project is still being worked on! It's still going to take a while before I can release an update, but that's because I've broken everything been pushing the game engine to it's limits! With the lighting overhaul from the last announcement, I wanted to also improve other aspect of the games visuals an audio. Did you know that lighting doesn't work too well when going diagonally? Turns out that was a rather interesting visual! But I got that fixed! Additionally I wanted to make ambient sounds more immersive. So... after much trial and error I sounds to be location based... sort of. They just get louder the closer you are. I never managed to get them to be directional. Up Next we have messages! They will now no longer be a boring box at the bottom of the screen,…
- Lighting Overhaul In Next Release - 4 June 2023
As part of the rework, I wanted to ensure that the lighting system was used more effectively. Currently the Lighting system is hardly used outside of a few small areas, however with the new update in the works I wanted to make the lighting of the work feel more unique. As such I have completely changed the lighting system, as well as removed the unused day/night system. Below is a screenshot of an area in the new version, On the left you can see the old (current) lighting system, and on the right, the new lighting. There is no current planned public release at this time, however this will be release on the beta channel within the next few weeks.
- Mini-Patch 30-05-2023 - 30 May 2023
A mini patch has been released that fixes some Achievements not being given to players. (More coming soon™)
- 2022 Updates! - 18 March 2022
It's time for one of those Update posts that I hear people like! Let’s start with a Quality-of-Life change, The Fullscreen and Fit Screen functions have been overhauled to now work seamlessly together! You will now be able to switch between the different window sizes using F5 (To Toggle Fullscreen modes) F6 (To toggle window / game size) and F7 (To toggle Fit Screen Mode) In the current version, Fullscreen and Fit Screen come hand in hand, meaning when you enable Fullscreen it will force fit screen. In the next version, Fullscreen will auto-enable Fit Screen, however you can disable this and still toggle the “Play Area” using F6 Next, the F12 Reset button has been fully disabled so that it doesn’t clash with Steams default “Take Screenshot” button. Now, on to the game changes. I am about 1% of the way though the game overhaul. Although the area’s haven’t changed that much the story like…
- Status Update - 2021 - 23 February 2021
So it's 2021 and... well there're not been an update in forever. I know. I've been promising and update for a while now but as I'm sure you are all aware, 2020 was a bit of a bad year for following plans. So, here is the news! Game status: Still In Progress. (Yes I haven't forgotten about, or given up on it) What's The Plan: So, here's the "bad" news. I have decided to overhaul the game and start from zero. Now, you might be asking why, and I have 2 reason. First, the current state of the game is kind of a mess. This is because as the game was developed, changes were made to the story and these didn't always get retro fixed to the existing content. And second, there was never really a plan with this game. This whole project actually started a test project that I never planned to release, however as I was testing ideas they all seemed to fit together, and that's how the project started.…
- The story will change... slightly - 8 September 2020
That’s right! Following some recent decisions I have decided to change some key aspects of the story. These changes will be mainly impact Sophie, Jessie and Mike and will change their early interactions to better improve the story and tie in closely with some of the new lore that was added later in the story. All changes will be available here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/448570/discussions/1/

(Other than the next game update o((>ω Gamepedia Regards, Cloud PS... what does Jessie have against sheep?
- No Updates In Over A Year? - 19 January 2020
With over a year with no real updates, new or content I wouldn't blame you for thinking the game is dead and buried, but I can assure you that it is not. Over the last year or so I have had a lot happen, from a new job that takes up more of my time, to some health issues (nothing major). As well as that the content I have created for the game just felt Sub-par and didn't meet the vision I had when starting the project. There is a new update that is in the works, however as this is something I can only work on part-time, and I want to make sure that it is as awesome as I can make it, it is going to take some time. I hope to be more active with new this year, however, I can't promise anything. I want to thank everyone interested in the game and played it, created content on YouTube/Twitch, purchased DLC, or even just shared it with their friends, and I hope to bring you something amazing…
- Would you be happy starting a new game? - 29 July 2019
An odd question I know, but here's the thing. I want to go back to some earlier areas of the game and tweak them. (Including Story related parts, mechanics etc) The issue is, If I do this then all saves will be useless. So there are 2 options I see here. 1 - Continue as things are and make these changes once the game is finished. (That may take a while). (Some story aspects will have to be skipped) 2 - Make the change now and give you all the updated story, features etc but force you all to start a new game. Vote and discuss below and I will make the decision based on what you all think. And, if you're not sure, just ask yourself. "What would Jessie do?" ~ CloudTheWolf
- Very Mini Update - Nothing has changed - 22 July 2019
Hi all, The mini-update released today has no game changing stuff in it. :( It just has a corrected Credits file and some very minor tweaks to some settings that will affect game play in the next update. Next update is still in progress and I'm working into something that will hopefully keep you all busy for more than 5 minutes this time (Please don't try and speed run the update when it come out, you'll end up finding some game breaking bug :( ) More soon!
- Back to the drawing board - 3 June 2019
Sometimes things seem great and then they don't. And that's what's happened with the next update **cough** Multiple times **cough**. As such I am going back through the earlier areas and doing some tweaks that will have an impact on the story. I'll make sure to post all these changes in the discussions so that you can just read the changes without having to start over. These may end up being small changes or a may even end up not being pushed live. But I am getting back into full, part-time game developer mode once more and will look to have some great new content for Origin Of Destiny this year. In Other News. Unlike Moving Day, Origin Of Destiny: Crimson Awakening is going to remain a Steam Exclusive and will also remain Free2Play. Finally, I have a Discord where I lurk and sometimes post so why not come chill and be share suggestions, ideas, thoughts and other stuff. https://discord.…
- What's Happening In 2019? - 20 January 2019
It’s been well over a year since the last update and to be honest, I’ve been taking a bit of a break from the Origin Of Destiny Universe. But now I’m back and working on this game and push it closer to a final release. The next update will be partly new story and partly bug fixes. If you are aware of any bugs, lease let me know in the EA-Bugs forums and I will add them to the list. Also if you have any ideas to improve the gameplay, let me know in EA-Suggestions
- Changes to expect in the next update(s) - 21 April 2018
So, news… lets give you some of that. As well as working on the update I will also be redoing most of the events in the game. Expect the following changes (Although some may come sooner than others) - I Probably won’t need to say this but. More Story! - Spelling fixes… I hope (I wish RPG Maker had spell checker) - Changes to NPC Interaction in some early areas. - Improvements to the main story “These shouldn’t need you to start a new game, but will provide more flavour text to the main game and be done as part of the NPS changes” - Enemy Balancing - Skill Balancing - Introduction of “Extreme” Difficulty Option. I also plan to add more advanced mechanics, but if they require you to start a new game they won’t be added until a transition from Early Access to Full Release, I will look to add a “Legacy Version” that will be the previous build without the features, It will be unsupported, ex…
- Reason For No Updates - 22 February 2018
So as most you have have noticed there have been no new updated released to add more to the game. Well that is, unfortunately due to some data loss as well as some aspects of the story not working. So.... it's back to the drawing board of where to take the story. LuckilyI have 3 active game projects all being worked on so ideas are being bounced arround to find the best fit. I won't say when but exect an update at some point (Hopyfully soon) that I hope will be woth the wait!
