- Bloodweight Update - 19 August 2026
The Seven Rooms Every great moment now happens in a painted place. Succession is decided at the reckoning table...the old ruler presiding, scales at hand, your children's cards lying on the wood, rising to meet your cursor. The generation's ledger closes on the archive desk. The crucible weighs your heir on the scales. The Witan's verdict arrives as a sealed writ. And one shrine holds both fates: it mourns your dead heirs, and it is where a hundred-generation line is crowned. Dozens of smaller polish passes ride along: portraits no longer drift in their frames, six-child broods number correctly to VI, the title page writes its menu directly on the great ledger, and long dynasty names, zero-mark lives, and generation-99 saves all render clean. Every heir leaves a record. Now the book looks like one.
- 2.2.2 hotfix - 28 July 2026
fixed some general install errors
- Bloodweight 2.2.2 - 28 July 2026
A refinement update for The Blood and the Hand. 2.2.0 made every generation a short, chaptered reign: the heir declares the course their own nature would take, and you either let that will stand or spend one of two Blood Marks to overrule a life. The system was right. The page it was printed on was not. The chronicle entry had been assembled like a form with each part in its own bordered box under a small-caps heading, the two answers exiled to buttons at the bottom of the screen, and red spent on so many different jobs it meant nothing at all. You could read the page. You couldn't feel it. So the entry has been rewritten as an entry. The matter is prose again. The chapter opens with its own writing at full measure, in the primary hand. No labelled well, no tinted rail, no circled glyph in the corner. The heir's will is testimony. A rule, the ruler named, the course they would take in t…
- Bloodweight 2.2: The Blood and the Hand - 14 July 2026
The heir has a will. The bloodline has a longer memory. Since Bloodweight 2.0, we have pulled the game apart, found the struggle at its heart, and rebuilt the entire player-facing journey around it. You are not a ruler moving through a dashboard. You are the bloodline: the old will that survives every hand that carries it. Each heir is now their own person, shaped by temperament, private ambition, family pressure, and the years already written before them. They will choose. You decide when to let their will stand—and when the blood must intervene. A REIGN, NOT A FORM Every generation now has a dramatic order. A union is made. The heir lives through dated Chronicle chapters. The Witan assembles. Children are named. The succession is sealed. The game no longer throws every system at you at once; each part of the reign arrives when it matters and leaves a record behind. Years now give the…
- Bloodweight Patch Notes - 19 June 2026
A polish-and-fixes pass on 2.0: Witness Mode reworked, several long-dormant strategic systems brought back to life, audio tuned, and a long tail of fixes. Witness Mode, reworked Now a toggle you flip before any run on the New Lineage screen and the World Builder instead of a separate title entry. Once a run is witnessed, it stays witnessed. On-screen speed controls (slower · pace · faster) and pause, sized for both desktop and touch. The witnessed heir's portrait now leads their card, and the on-screen overlay was de-cluttered. Systems that now do what they say Era Troths. Several late-game troths (Iron Constitution, The Winnowing, Apotheosis Hunger, the inheritance troths) were declared but inert — they now genuinely shift heir mortality, newborn survival, and inheritance. Founding Oath. The World Builder oath (Long Memory / Claim / Mercy / Secrecy) is no longer flavor — each gives the…
- Bloodweight v2.0 is NOW - 16 June 2026
Biggest update yet. A single bloodline no longer sits frozen in one age. It now crosses one hundred generations and six ages — from oath-fire and named keeps, through charters and registries, commerce and industry, to the public archive of the present. The page ages with the blood: oaths harden into charters, charters into records, scripture into paperwork. The heir who closes the ledger is the same blood that lit the first candle. ◈ The Era Spine — six ages, one bloodline The Founding Age · The Charter Age · The Early State · The Mercantile Pressure · The Industrial Dread · Bloodweight Now. Each age changes how Bloodweight reads, sounds, looks, and plays — events, Witan language, faction forms, resources, UI texture, backdrops, and ambience all move with time. Era Troths at the age-turns: does the house evolve, resist, sanctify the new age, or submit to its records? Long-term identity,…
- Bloodweight 2.0 Coming Soon - 14 June 2026
Bloodweight has always been about inheritance: what survives, what mutates, what gets written down, and what the next hand is forced to carry. With Bloodweight 2.0, we are pushing that promise much further. The next major update is being built around a stronger spine for the whole game: one bloodline crossing one hundred generations, moving from old founding ages into registries, companies, factories, hospitals, archives, and public memory. The old house does not stay old forever. It becomes offices. It becomes records. It becomes institutions. It reaches the player’s weather. World BuilderWorld Builder is moving from a simple setup idea into a real playable mode. The goal is to let you author a custom Bloodweight world before the ledger opens:name the world and the player housedefine the founder, their look, personality, stats, banner, oath, and relicshape rival houses with names, stances…

- Bloodweight 1.13.3 — The Reckoning Update 🩸 - 10 June 2026
The big one: your ancestors now answer for their reigns — and they have faces.✨ NewThe Skein paints your dead. Every heir's face is now recorded the day they pass — open the Skein and see the actual portrait of every hand your line has known, all the way back to the founder. The family record finally looks like a family.Every reign gets a reckoning. "A formidable hand" never told you why. Now each ancestor's card carries their defining marks — "made enemies of every hall · carried the dream within reach" — drawn from eight counts the game has always kept: the coffers, the name, the houses, the dark years, the blood, the dream, the customs, the talk. Right-click any ancestor (on the Skein or the Timeline) for the full eight-count reading.Betrothals are binding now. When an event pledges your line to a house, matchmaking honors it: the pledge hangs over the hall, the promised house sends…
- Bloodweight — what's new (1.13.1) 🩸 - 7 June 2026
Big one this time: the Soul Teller finally steps into the game.✨ NewRead your chronicle right in the game. When a bloodline ends and you send it to the Soul Teller, you no longer have to hop to the website — the finished, written-out chronicle of your whole dynasty opens in-app, drop caps and all, and it's saved with the run so you can re-read it anytime. (The web gallery still works exactly like before.)The manual is actually good now. The Soul Teller sits you down and walks you through it: what you're actually doing each generation (in plain words), a clear step-by-step of the loop, and a glossary that explains every weird word — Weight, Witan, Troth, all of it. And you can pull it up mid-run from the pause menu, not just the title.A friendlier first hour. Your very first heir gets a proper hello from the Soul Teller — by name — pointing you at what to do first. New players shouldn't…
- Bloodweight 1.13.0 — "The Ledger" - 5 June 2026
NEW• The Ledger — a whole new way to read your house. Your home screen, reimagined as an open book: the heir's portrait on one leaf, the chronicler's account of the generation on the other, your running tallies along the foot, and a single page-turn into the events. Completely optional — flip it on in Settings → Hub Style. The classic view stays exactly as it was, and stays the default.• Witness mode reads way clearer. When the bloodline plays itself, you now see the heir's character AND the reasoning behind every choice right there on the page. One clean control to take the quill — and hand it back — with an actual on-screen button instead of hunting for keys. Your pacing sticks between sessions now too.FIXES & POLISH• Squashed a pile of text-overlap bugs — the estate ledger, the weight, troths, and the heir dossier no longer stack lines on top of each other.• Tidied the new hub's page…

emergency fix for scene transition bug introduced by my last update
- Bloodweight — Update 1.12.74 - 2 June 2026
A comfort, clarity, and stability pass across the whole book. • Witness Mode, your way — step in and out of the seat freely. Take the quill to write a turn yourself, then hand it back to your heir. • Found your line with confidence — name your founder and bloodline and see those names on the creation page before you begin. Cleaner fields, no guessing whether it saved. • A cursor that stays put — the quill holds steady when you alt-tab away or flip in and out of fullscreen. • Clearer accessibility — colorblind support is now a simple on/off that shape-codes event seals by type. • Court and kin speak in full — conversations with siblings, rivals, and spouses now carry the scene that frames them, not just the line. • Fixes & polish — closed two crashes, tidied screens where text or buttons crowded, and ran a broad stability sweep across every page. Thank you for keeping the ledger. More to…
