• Small quads are in — the first 2" flies - 14 August 2026

  SITL Forge started on 5 kg+ heavy lifters. It goes small now. What's new First 2" micro. Mirro20 frame, 1103 11000KV, 2023 tri-blades, 2S 550 mAh — 70 g all-up, 5.1:1 thrust-to-weight, around 9 minutes. Rotational inertia is computed from your actual build. Every airframe used to share one fixed value; now each carries its own mass distribution. A micro and a heavy lifter no longer spin up the same way. Parts check physical fitment. Connectors, stack mounting and leg mounts — batteries, stacks and landing gear that don't fit the frame won't mount. Steadier at the limits. Betaflight's own I-term limit and anti-windup, so the controller stops asking for authority the motors can't deliver. New Interface tab in Settings: crosshair and horizon toggles. For existing pilots Default rates are now Betaflight stock — 200 / 670 / 0.54 on all three axes. Saved rate profiles are untouched. 3", 2.5"…

• X-Class Power — 5215 Motors, 12S2P Pack, and a Startup Fix - 1 August 2026

  This build pushes the workbench into proper X-class territory: two new 5215 motors, a 12S pack to feed them, and the frame mounts to bolt them on. New motors — 5215 X-Class Both are modelled from real manufacturer bench data, not estimates. Same 52×15 stator and 344.5 g weight — the winding is what you choose: 5215 500KV — 8S, ~3.3 kW peak, 7.5 kg thrust on a 13×9×3 5215 300KV — 12S, ~3.4 kW peak, 7.4 kg thrust on a 13×9×3 Four of either lands you around 30 kg of static thrust. Pick the winding that matches your pack, not the other way round — the sim will tell you when you get it wrong. New battery — 12S2P Li-Ion 24× 18650 cells: 12S, 6000 mAh, 1240 g. It's the heaviest pack in the build list by a wide margin, and it's meant to be — pair it with the 300KV and watch what the extra mass does to your hover throttle. • Fly with the keyboard, new FPV camera controls, and getting-started guides - 23 July 2026

  Fly with the keyboard — no controller needed You no longer need a gamepad or radio to get in the air. When no game controller is connected, SITL Forge maps the flight sticks onto the keyboard: Arrow keys — roll and pitch Q / E — yaw (turn left / right) Shift / Ctrl — throttle up / down (holds where you leave it) We tuned the feel so it's actually flyable: a tap gives an immediate, gentle amount of stick and ramps up the longer you hold, yaw is softened so it's easier to control, and the throttle moves in fine steps so you can settle onto a hover. While you fly this way, orbit the camera with the mouse (left-drag, wheel to zoom). Plug in a controller any time and the arrow keys go back to orbiting the camera automatically. • iNAV RealFlight bridge — fly on a real tune - 22 July 2026

  This update adds a new, much lower-latency way to connect SITL Forge to **iNAV SITL**, plus real-time physics improvements that benefit every flight mode. ## ✨ New: iNAV RealFlight transport (recommended) SITL Forge now speaks iNAV's native **RealFlight** interface (`--sim=rf`). Instead of streaming sensors over MSP and polling for motor outputs, iNAV runs **in lockstep** with the simulator — it advances one step per exchange and pushes its motors to us directly. • Setup guides now speak Ukrainian and Chinese - 20 July 2026

  The Betaflight and iNAV setup guides — the ones behind the Setup help link on each External FC card — were English-only, and stayed English even after you switched the app language. Both are now fully translated into Ukrainian and Simplified Chinese. They follow the app language. Change it in Settings → General and an open guide re-renders in place. No restart. Translated in full, not just the headings: - The troubleshooting tables - The remote-SITL and WSL2 networking sections - The Betaflight motor-order and SITL-bridge notes Commands, file paths, build targets and CLI settings are left exactly as you have to type them — only the prose around them is translated.

• Betaflight motor order — automatic detection for current SITL builds - 11 July 2026

  Betaflight changed the order of the motor values its SITL sends on the wire in April 2026. If you built your SITL from recent Betaflight source, the simulator was reading each motor's command one position off — the quad flipped the instant it left the ground. SITL Forge now asks the flight controller which generation it is, over MSP, as soon as it connects. You don't have to configure anything: old and new Betaflight builds both just work. What's new - Motor order setting in the Network window for Betaflight, defaulting to Auto. It shows what the firmware identified itself as, so you can see what Auto picked. - Manual Legacy (Betaflight 4.6 and older) and Current (builds from 24 April 2026 on) if you ever need to override it. - A warning when your SITL was built for the Gazebo bridge — that build reports its attitude rotated 90°, and no motor setting can fix it. • Connect to a flight controller running on another machine - 11 July 2026

  You can now point SITL Forge at a SITL running somewhere other than your own PC — inside WSL on Windows, or on another computer on your network. What's new Network settings per flight controller. Open the External FC menu and click Network on any integration card to set the SITL host and every port it uses. Test connection button — check the address is right before you activate. Hostnames work, not just IP addresses. Settings are remembered between sessions, per flight controller. • Added hotkeys for Arm and Modes channels - 9 July 2026

  For the people who have a joystick without buttons, we have added hotkeys to switch ARM (A key) and Flight modes (M key). It works only if you didn't assigned this channels before.

• Parts library: 3×3 motor matrix, multi-bore props - 1 June 2026

  The parts library got a big upgrade. NEW MOTORS — 9 Light/Mid/Heavy Generics covering 7", 10" and 13" frames. Includes a 4720-class 300KV on 12S for the heavy 13" lifters. REBALANCED — every motor in the catalog was rebalanced through a physics-based scaler. No more outliers (the 3115 900KV peak-current overshoot is gone), no more zero-iron-loss motors. NEW PROPS — rebuilt prop lineup; 13" and larger props now carry M5/M6/M8 adapter rings so a single SKU fits 5 mm and 6 mm shafts. NEW FRAME — 9IMOD F13 (13" X-frame, 385 g) added to the catalog. ELECTRONICS WEIGHT — your build's all-up-weight now includes 50 g for the FPV camera, VTX, antennas and mounts. The Workbench hover-throttle and flight-time numbers move accordingly.
