- Radar Identified Update 0.9706 - 16 September 2026
Hey everyone! The latest updates bring more airspace to explore, smoother radio calls, and more ways to shape your session. There are five new East Coast sectors, more than 1,300 new audio files, traffic levels up to 150%, and a new Random Traffic mode to try.Alongside those additions, we’ve been working on command handling, the vector tool, weather customization, and smaller fixes that make a difference during a busy shift. Here’s what’s new!Five new East Coast sectorsTake control of a new stretch of US airspace connecting the Northeast to Atlanta, with five playable upper sectors:New York Inland — ZNY-IWashington North — ZDC-NVirginia Upper — ZDC-SPulaski — ZTL-43Charlotte — ZTL-33 A shared regional timetable brings new services through the corridor, including return flights and quieter overnight traffic. - Small fix update — 0.9602NCM - 17 August 2026
Hi everyone, A quick round of fixes, almost all of them from your reports. Thanks for the detailed write-ups and screenshots — several of these turned out to have a different cause than it looked from the outside, and the extra detail is what made them findable. Radar & clearances - Revising a climb no longer reads back as a descent. Clear an aircraft to FL360, change your mind and give FL350 while it is still passing FL286 — the pilot answered "Descending to flight level three five zero" although the new level was still well above them. The wording now follows the aircraft's actual altitude. The same mistake in reverse — a descending aircraft re-cleared higher reading back "Climbing" — is gone with it. - The position trail no longer runs over the aircraft symbol. It starts one radar update behind the target, where it belongs. -The clearance menu now opens as a list by default. Prefer t…
- Radar Identified — Update 0.96 - 16 August 2026
Hey everyone,Big update this round — the US West Coast is properly on the map, and the game runs substantially lighter than before.🇺🇸 US West Coast — 4 New Sectors The West Coast airspace has been reworked from the ground up with clean, seamless boundaries. Four sectors are now playable: Seattle Center (Cascade High, Area B West High) and Oakland Center (Oakland North High, Bay/Valley High) — covering Central Oregon down to the San Francisco Bay.Traffic got a serious upgrade too: 100+ new flights including Alaska routes, trans-Pacific long-haul to Asia, Hawaii services and east–west connections that break up the old north–south monotony. Northbound and southbound streams no longer share the same airway — opposing flows now run on parallel tracks a few miles apart.Heads up: West Coast traffic density is still being balanced. Some sectors are busier than intended and not optimised— feed…
- Radar Identified — Update v0.86R - 17 July 2026
Radar Identified — Update v0.86R Voice Control Is Live · 4 New Playable Sectors · The Last Big One Before 1.0Hey everyone,The headline first: you can now control your traffic by voice. Plus four new playable sectors, editable flight plans, smarter coordination, far more display customization — and a word on what comes next, because this is likely the last feature update before 1.0.🎙️ Voice Control — Live (Still in Testing) Push-to-talk voice control is switched on. Speak your clearances — climb, descend, headings, speed, direct, handoff and more — and recognition runs entirely offline on your machine: no internet connection, nothing uploaded, your microphone audio never leaves your computer. Train the recogniser for best accuracy. And here's the trick that makes it flow: the mouseover target. When a clearance is recognised but the callsign is hard to catch (some airline names just are),…

Hey everyone,This is a big one — the largest update since launch. Here's everything new.🇺🇸 US Northeast Sectors — Early AccessRadar Identified now crosses the Atlantic. The sector picker has a new region toggle (Germany / US Northeast, and the first US sectors are playable on a trial basis: North New York, Boston High, Athens South, Athens North, and Rockdale.Pick a US sector and you get US flight schedules, US callsigns and FAA-style traffic — over 120 new US flights including NE-corridor regionals and KJFK/KLGA long-haul from Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Korean Air and ANA. The default start time for US sectors is the natural east-coast afternoon bank, with local time (EDT/EST) shown next to the UTC picker.Heads-up: The US sectors are early access. - Emergencies & New Sector - planned US/Canada Update - 8 May 2026
Hey everyone,Big update this week — and a few important things on the horizon. Let's start with the news.🌎 US & Canada Sectors — Coming in the next few months Work on the North American airspace expansion is well underway. New sectors will feature full FAA phraseology and authentic radio voices. As the game continues to grow with significantly more content, the price will be adjusted to reflect the expanded scope in the coming weeks.🧪 Beta Testers Wanted For the upcoming US sectors I'm looking for a small group of beta testers — ideally real-world FAA-licensed controllers, US-based pilots, or experienced ATC sim players familiar with US procedures. If that's you, drop a message in the Discord. Beta access via Steam beta branch with password. Now to what just dropped:🗺️ New Map-Based Sector Picker The list-based sector selection is gone. The picker now shows a Germany-centred map with…
- Radar Identified - Coordination & Cargo Update - 2 May 2026
Hey everyone,This is a big one — three major features land in this update. Here's what's new.📞 Coordination Phone You can now call adjacent sector controllers and the supervisor directly from a new phone panel in the radar view. Pick a sector to call, select an aircraft, and coordinate via a live chat transcript with realistic ATC phraseology — both sides rendered as chat bubbles.Three coordination actions are available:REQREL — Request release for a pending inbound aircraft. Once the neighbor approves (~10–15 s), the aircraft calls you on frequency as normal.REQFL — Request a specific flight level for an inbound. An inline FL picker offers five options around the requested level; the AI approves in ~6 s and the aircraft arrives at your cleared level.REQDCT — Request a direct routing for a pending aircraft via an inline waypoint picker. The aircraft is rerouted before calling in on you…
- Patch Notes v0.79.1 - 25 April 2026
Hey everyone, Big QOL update this time — here's what's new. 🌩️ Weather System Overhaul Four weather modes to choose from: OFF, WIND, NORMAL and STORM. Thunderstorm cells now build, mature and decay realistically, and in STORM mode full squall lines of 60–180 NM sweep across multiple sectors. Pilots will request weather deviations when CBs are ahead, and you have a two-minute grace period to issue a vector before any penalty kicks in. AI traffic also routes around storms automatically with a 15 NM lookahead. 📻 Radio Status Badges TX/RX indicators next to your active frequency. RX lights up green for the entire duration of a pilot transmission, TX flashes orange when you issue a command and stays lit while holding Ctrl as push-to-talk (not yet working). Small addition, but it makes it much easier to keep track of who's talking. 🏷️ Labels & UI Improvements Aircraft on a vectored heading…
- Roadmap: May & June for Radar Identified - 21 April 2026
Hey everyone,Over the past weeks I've been pushing as many improvements as possible into the game — but I know there's still a lot on the list. Here's what's coming. May Update🛫 Traffic Overhaul Traffic density is going up by roughly 50%. Depending on the sector and time of day, you can expect an average of 3–8 aircraft in your airspace simultaneously. It should feel noticeably busier.🌩️ Weather Refinement Moving beyond isolated storm cells toward full weather fronts that span multiple sectors — meaning coordination between adjacent sectors will actually become necessary. ✈️ Cargo & Night Owl Update Right now traffic peaks in the morning and afternoon, and there are no cargo flights at all. That changes in May: cargo operations will be added with proper coverage of the major freight hubs (Luxembourg, Cologne, Leipzig, London), and long-haul overflights toward the US and Asia will be f…
- Patch 0.77 Weather, Holdings, RFL Change - 20 April 2026
Weather: Three weather modes. Pick per session at the sector picker: OFF, WIND ONLY (deterministic upper-air wind affects ground speed & drift), or FULL WEATHER (wind plus drifting precipitation cells, some of which are thunderstorms). Wind: Will impact the speed and turn radius of aircraft (Ground speed) Realistic cell behaviour. Cells build, mature and decay over their lifetime; thunderstorms render with darker green/grey and animated lightning glyphs (X). Cell drift speed is roughly half the upper-air wind. Thunderstorm Deviations: Pilot weather requests. When a controlled flight's route passes within 8 NM of a CB within ~5 minutes, the pilot transmits once: "Callsign, request weather deviation, cumulonimbus ahead". The strip flashes yellow for 3 s and gains an orange ⛈ WXbadge on the route line until the threat is gone. Penalty for storm penetration. Ignore the request and the aircr…
- Development Update #2 - 19 April 2026
Hey together,to keep you updated some new information.I have decided to accelerate the pipeline a little bit and push more features into the game (e.g also to include later features already now into the game). This might resolve into more bugs during the runtime, but also hopefully directly more fun for the game (at least it is for me steamhappy )Biggest additions are the holding feature, change of RFL and weather. All are still to be optimized but already working.Update to be expected within the next days.Best regards!Weather:Three weather modes. Pick per session at the sector picker: OFF, WIND ONLY (deterministic upper-air wind affects ground speed & drift), or FULL WEATHER (wind plus drifting precipitation cells, some of which are thunderstorms).Wind: Will impact the speed and turn radius of aircraft (Ground speed)Realistic cell behaviour. When an aircraft you have accepted leaves your 3D sector and you have not handed it off within 25 seconds, a blinking purple REQ appears above the label — the next sector is asking you to release the flight.Missed handoff counter fixed. The debrief now only counts flights you actually accepted and forgot to hand off. Pre-populated background traffic no longer inflates the number.Aircraft controlled / handoffs completed fixed. Both stats on the debrief screen now reflect only flights you personally worked.Foreign overflights can be requested. Overflights close to the edge of your sector can now be requested via REQ even if their original handoff was to a different sector.TRAFFIC & SEPARATIONImproved: inbounds spawning inside a conflict. - Radar Identified - Early Access Release! - 12 April 2026
Hello everyone!I'm excited to announce that Radar Identified is now available in Early Access! This has been a passion project born out of real-world aviation experience — the goal was always to build the en-route ATC simulator that I felt was missing. And now it's finally in your hands. That said — this is Early Access, and I know it's not perfect yet. There will be bugs, rough edges, and things that don't work exactly as they should. That's where I need your help.If you run into any issues, please report them here in the discussions or use the in-game feedback option. Every bug report, every suggestion, every "this doesn't feel right" comment helps me make the game better. I'll be actively reading everything and working on fixes as fast as I can.Major updates are planned every two months — new features, new content, and of course bug fixes based on your feedback.Thank you for being here…
