  • Qubicle 3.1.2 out now - 27 January 2017

Hey guys, I have just uploaded the next version. Here's what's new: You can now set a target size for your Voxelizer. So instead of using scale you can exactly say how big you want your voxelization result. Voxelizer > Set Target Size I have made some minor tweaks to the workflow. You can now dbl-click to apply an extrude operation instead of using Enter. Same for drawing of standard primitives and box select You can now open the color mixer and set the tool colors without clicking on the color button but by using a keyboard shortcut. I have set it per default to C for primary and Shift+C for secondary. But you can of course change that to your linking. Tools > Set Primary/Secondary Color The Qubicle Binary QB export now offers an additional setting called "remove name index" which removes the name indices of exported objects. So instead of "Box_1" the name will be just "Box". This will…

  • Qubicle 3.1 out now! - 17 January 2017

Hey guys, happy belated new year! I have set up a new version for you which is the first one to support German - and potentially a lot of other languages. If you like to help me translate Qubicle, I have created a GitHub for this matter. There are also rewards! Visit https://github.com/minddesk/QubicleLocalization Furthermore Qubicle now offers quick help for all actions: just move your mouse over a menu item or button and Qubicle will display help in the status bar at the bottom. Most of the actions are linked to a corresponding detailed help page of the online documentation. Just press F1 and your browser will display the help. On OSX this feature is not available yet because I simply didn't know what key to assign. Is there a standard key for this on OSX? Please enlighten me and I will add it asap. As always: have fun! Cheers Tim Here's the complete list of changes: * Qubicle now ava…

  • Coming up next - 1 June 2016

Hey guys, after some (very much needed) days offs, I am back on track. This is what happens next. Minor bug fixes/improvements - Dbl-click file open (unsure if this is really fixable but I'll try) - OS X render to file bug - Season Pass label - Minecraft block import issue (128 limit) - Minecraft add cutom block - Custom edge bleed size - Mesh Export file naming for model (currently "model" should be qbcl file name) Bigger issues - T-junctions (difficult, will take some time) The next big thing: New render engine I started working on Qubicle 11 years ago, the way I render hasn't changed much over time. So, yes, Qubicle still uses the fixed function pipeline. I am changing it to programmable now. The new render engine should significantly improve render performance. Plus, it will feature perspective camera (FPS & Trackball), shadows, deferred lighting and more. This is just the groundwor…
