A Rhapsody in Steam is an adventure RPG. At the far north of the continent of Tythun, the Dark Lord has long held its ground. The expedition to put an end to it has been delayed, again and again — and yet the railway keeps pushing north, carrying your carriage with it. As the Hero's advisor, you and the Hero and the Guide ride together through one station after another. Along the way: imperial officials to deal with, the Guilds and their banners, businesses bearing the imperial crest, travelers of unclear origin, and those who claim to work for the Dark Lord. At every stop, there is something you can do. There is also something you can leave alone. The Dark Lord is the topic of the moment — front-page news every week, arguments running hot in the taverns, more charm-stalls on the corners than there were last month. But it seems no two people are talking about quite the same Dark Lord. The train continues north.
