  New updates!Users reported some issues with the updated Africa map, those have been addressed. There should not be blank fill zones anymore (especially around continental edges). Additionally, there was a known bug where switching maps would deeply impact game performance, this has been fixed. • New Map Assets Across the Board - 7 May 2026

  Many of your raised concerns about the maps being generated by AI and their low quality. I have heard those complaints and fast tracked changes. Originally I went with AI maps to avoid copy-right concerns (an area that can be scary for a solo dev). After seeing the justified disappointment of some of my customers I decided to change that. The game now uses real map assets created by real people (sources in README file in your game files). The maps are now much higher quality, but you might still notice some minor "wonkiness". I had to make some manual changes to the maps to allow for the paint mesh layer to properly appear on these updated map assets. I did not mark my game as early access as I morally am against the concept but I certainly plan on iterative improvements based on your feedback. • Polity Painter Releases Tomorrow + Map Pack - 4 May 2026

  Mapmakers and Historians,Polity Painter will be releasing tomorrow afternoon with a 20% sale! Beyond that I wanted to let the community know that I will be releasing a map pack that reflects the real world's borders. The Pre-Made Maps will include: Europe Asia The AmericasThe Middle East The British Isles Africa In the more distant future I plan to release a map of The World. Here is a WIP preview of the Europe Map: These maps are far from perfect and will be free for the community.
