- DoDonPachi Resurrection Ver 1.0.6.0 An Update & Apology - 13 June 2017
We just updated DoDonPachi again following the previous fix for Hibachi. Unfortunately, after investigation and a lot of help from both players (especially KAL & 旭日之心) and Cave's staff, we were able to ascertain that the problem was down to a simple mistake on our part. Needless to say, the current version has been re-checked and Hibachi is confirmed working in Arrange A. Apologies from all at Degica.

- DoDonPachi Resurrection Ver 1.0.6.0 Arrange A Hidden Boss Fix - 7 June 2017
We just released a patch with the following fixes included: Fix for Hibachi not appearing in Arrange A Fix for Hibachi not appearing in Training Mode Edit: Hibachi was previously working in Training Mode. Two things of note about the above fix: 1) When replayed in today's version, any pre-existing replays where the player fulfilled conditions for Hibachi to appear will see Hibachi appear, but due to no input history having been recorded for Hibachi, the player will be destroyed. 2) As scores attained with previous versions will not include any points for battling/defeating Hibachi, players of today's version will not be disadvantaged, so we decided to leave previous scores as is rather than wipe everyone's hard work. As always, if you experience any problems post patch, please let us know.

- How Steam brought shmups out of arcades and into a new PC renaissance - 13 April 2017
By the late ‘90s, with Street Fighter 2’s impact on arcades receding in the West, the beautiful rows of wooden cabinets and the glow of their CRTs suffered a commercial deforestation. With their dwindling ranks went the heyday for genres built around a quick play and immediate gratification. Genres like the shoot-em-up, which predates all the rest with links back to 1962’s pioneering Spacewar! In its prime, the shoot-em-up genre swelled with a distinctly Japanese form of game design, screens covered by hellish bullet patterns and anime girls—plus notable domestic off-shoots. Post-arcade, the shoot-em-up, the shooter, the shmup, or the STG (pick your acronym preference) receded into an enthusiast bubble, hidden from view after first and third-person action games captured the designation of 'shooter.' In those dark years, shmup enthusiasts either cont…
