  You've heard legends and tales of mysterious creatures in the vast ocean... perhaps seeking booty from shipwrecks will shed some light on these stories - are they fantastical inventions from the minds of sailors too long adrift, or could there be some truth to these fables...?

• Steam Cloud Saves - 28 June 2026

  Steam clouds saves now enabled; these are unique to each operating system, so if you save your TethyScope progress on a Mac, you will be able to access that save file from any other Mac, but not from a Windows machine, etc.

  New Creatures: 5+ new creatures to discover, spread across ecosystems and depths Environmental Features: Icebergs Predator / Prey Interactions: blue whales, killer whales, and sharks now munch their prey Achievements Adjustment: Achievements requiring ‘All’ of some type of morph (e.g. ‘see ALL giant creatures’) now require only 15 distinct creatures. Pirates and Booty: Ships and treasure lurk in the deep, waiting to be found... Fixes: Spawning odds fixed for ocean-floor critters, yeti crabs now discoverable

• Minor bug fix: Leaderboards - 21 May 2026

  Updates / bug fixes: Leaderboards will now update with your most expensive photograph and the number of creatures you have photographed. Collector page now displays fauna names even before you have discovered them in the wild. This should make it more feasible to find unknown creatures. Three new creatures added to the depths...
