This is not a game This is the first devlog for The Universe Won't Pause. It feels strange to begin by telling you what the project isn't. But that is the honest place to start. Games have levels. Objectives. Rewards. Music when you win. They are polite machines built to entertain a human nervous system for a few hours before the window closes and the world is forgotten. This thing is something else. I didn't want to script events. I didn't want to decide when something interesting happens. I didn't want to be the author of a story. I wanted to write the rules of a world, and then step back. If the rules are correct, the world should start telling stories on its own. Laws, not events Most games begin with content. Maps.
