  • Bestiary. The Amulets - 15 September 2026

Hello Hunters! Today, we are talking about amulets. In the game, these are ritualistic items acquired throughout your journey and equipped outside of combat. You have a few strategic options for how to use them: buy a new amulet, upgrade your current one, or buy a new slot.Design ObjectivesAmulets in games are usually just passive status modifiers. For Obscurium, we wanted them to alter your strategy in a more dynamic, active, and heavy way. Because of that, we looked to the roots of Brazilian popular culture and folklore, where all protection demands its price. If you’ve played, you know we start with three: the figa, coarse salt, and the patuá.Why did we choose these amulets?None of these elements were chosen at random. Beyond being items easily found in homes all across Brazil, they carry centuries of superstition, faith, and resistance:The Wooden Figa: Far beyond a common decorative…

  • Devlog 07. What we fixed, what is still open - 8 September 2026

Hello Hunters!Thank you to everyone still filing reports. Every line below came from one of you.Status since the August 28 build: six new things opened, one fixed, and nothing we had already fixed has come back.FixedShadows from Beyond no longer carries its effect into the next fight or the next run. There is a longer explanation at the bottom if you want it.A softlock when you drew a card during a block animation. This one lands with the next build.Still openThe tutorial freezes at the sacrifice step. Last time we said we could not reproduce it. Now we can. It happens on the second turn. The tutorial is permanently skipped if you close the game on the screen that asks whether you want it, and there is no way to replay it.Cards with no effect show nothing in their description.Amulets have no tooltip explaining what they do."Click to continue" hides below the edge of the screen when the t…

  • Bestiary. The Pisadeira - 1 September 2026

Hello Hunters! This has probably happened to you. You wake up in the dark. You are awake. And you cannot move anything. In Brazil that has a name, and she has been up on your roof the whole time. The legendShe spends the whole night watching you from a distance. What she looks like changes from region to region, so nobody agrees on her shape. What everyone agrees on is that at night you are never alone. You have probably had her visit. You wake up. You are conscious. And nothing moves. It does not last a fixed amount of time. Seconds, or an hour. And they say she eats the fear, so the more frightened of her you are, the more often she comes.Cornélio Pires wrote her down in Conversas ao pé do fogo. She also turns up as Pesadeira along the São Francisco river, and as Pisador in Ceará. Dev noteEveryone in Brazil knows what the Pisadeira is before they know her name. It is sleep paralysis. You su…

  • Devlog 06. Friday is the map build - 25 August 2026

Hello Hunters!Friday's buildWe spent this month rebuilding how the map gets generated, and it was the most argued-about decision of the month by a distance. Three disciplines at once: design writing the rules, engineering refactoring the old system out from under them, and tech art making the visuals update themselves off the generated data instead of being placed by hand. The rules came out in two kinds, and that split is where the arguments were. Some exist for balance. Others exist only so the shape of the map is interesting to walk through. Those two pull against each other constantly. What came out the other end is an internal tool where we build generation profiles and tune them. The honest one-line version of what changes for you: runs stop looking like each other.Claim your spot here.FixedThe softlock that lived in your save is gone, and we confirmed it internally.Four map events…

  • Bestiary. The Carranca - 18 August 2026

Hello Hunters! There is a Carranca in the corner of the board. It is the thing you have probably already clicked to end your turn. Today we tell you what it is.The legendOn the boats that crossed the São Francisco, there was a face fixed to the prow.Cedar and imburana, the resistant woods, or hand shaped clay. Wide eyes. Open mouth. Teeth showing. Human traits and animal traits put together on purpose so it reads as neither. The people who carve them are called carranqueiros. The wooden ones get painted in strong colour, the clay ones stay rough. The Carranca kept the bad on the outside of the boat. Evil spirits and other supernatural things. Some of them carry Iemanjá and Exu Marabô inside. Iemanjá is the queen of the sea in the Afro Brazilian religions, mother of the waters and protector of the people who live off them. Exu Marabô is one of the Exus of Umbanda, tied to crossroads and to…

  • Devlog 04. What is broken, and last call for this wave - 11 August 2026

Hello Hunters!A few things about the build in this playtest.First, thank you. You found bugs we had not found. You found others on the way. And you sent us ideas about what to improve, which is the whole reason the playtest exists. A lot has changed because of you. What is brokenThe Amulet Craftsman can soft lock your save. Leave to the main menu during the card sacrifice animation and the run can come back in a state the game cannot load. Restarting does not help, because the save lives outside the game folder.Workaround, already in Discord: delete current_run.json in AppData\\LocalLow\\DefaultCompany\\Obscurium.Dev noteThe cause was not the amulet screen. Some cards existed in the game but were missing from the card repository. When the save went to rebuild your deck it could not find the card, and it stopped there. That is why it turned up on different screens and looked like more than…

  • Bestiary. The Capelobo - 4 August 2026

He hunts the hunters.CAPELOBO.The legendHe is told in Amazonas, Maranhão and Pará. Folklorists sometimes call him the werewolf of the north, which is close but misses the part that matters. He does not turn into a wolf and stop there. He is a wolf that also becomes a giant anteater. The snout comes forward, the mouth disappears, and what is left is a face built for reaching inside things. He hunts hunters. He kills them and drinks the blood. In the tellings there is exactly one way to kill him back, and it is to hit him in the navel. The name is probably indigenous. Capê, which means broken bone, and lobo. What he does on the tableTwo forms, and no stat block on either one. The anteater goes for your hand. It reaches in, takes what you were holding, and you spend the rest of the fight playing around a hand you cannot count on. The wolf does not care about your hand at all. It hits you, h…

  • Devlog 03. The map got bigger - 28 July 2026

Hello Hunters,The second build lands July 31, and the map is the big change. The run now crosses more than one part of Brazil.Up to now you were in the Norte. That is where the Capelobo lives, in the tellings and in our game. The new region is the Sudeste, and it sits on the other end of the country and does not share the same fears. That distinction matters more than it sounds. Brazil is not one folklore, it is many, and they do not agree with each other. A creature that everyone in one state grew up hearing about is unheard of six states away. Putting real distance in the run is how that stops being a line in a design doc and starts being something you feel while playing. Two new fights come with it, and both are against the spirits of hunters who came before you. They tried to finish the same ritual you are trying to finish. They did not make it. Three new cards come out of what they l…

  • Devlog 02. The second build is open for signups - 21 July 2026

The first playtest did its job. You found the Capelobo fight that could softlock, the turn one where you empty your hand and then wait, and the run that played too easy right up until the Wolf. We wrote all of it down. The second build is bigger and more balanced. More to play, a difficulty curve that actually climbs, and the fixes you asked for. It drops July 31.Signups are open now. • Brasília Game Festival + Invite for the Playtest - 2 July 2026

Hello Hunters!Three days in Brasília. Over 2,000 people at the event. 500+ audio recordings. We debuted the first build at a booth at the Brasília Game Festival. A lot of people played Obscurium for the first time. Every session ended with questions to figure out if we were on the right track. The tutorial confuses before it teaches. The act 1 curve climbs too fast. Both are in the backlog now. What worked: the creatures stayed in people's heads after the session ended.Folk horror doesn't need to scream. We're now opening the playtest on FirstLook for anyone who wasn't at the event. If you want to play before launch and help shape the game:https://obscurium.firstlook.gg/Thank you to everyone who stopped, played, and told us what they thought. Especially the ones who told us what didn't work. The grimoire stays open, Wild Pepper Games

Short description

Walk a darker Brazil and uncover the creatures its folklore keeps in the deep forest, monsters most players have never seen. A roguelike deckbuilder: summon spirits onto a four-lane ritual board, sacrifice your own to pay for what comes next, and seal each one into your grimoire.

About this game

There are worse things than dying. Some of them offer a second chance. Obscurium is a roguelike deckbuilder set in a Brazil you have never been shown, a darker one. You build a deck of rituals and fight the creatures of Brazilian folklore, one card at a time. Lose a fight and the run ends. You start over with nothing but what you learned. Unfold the map the last hunter left behind and pick where to go next. Every stop is an event, or something worse wearing a stranger's face. Cross a country large enough to keep a different set of legends in every region, each with its own way of killing you. Hunt what the stories warn about. The Pisadeira, who sits on the chest of anyone who falls asleep on a full stomach. The Capelobo, part man and part anteater, that opens a skull to drink what is inside. The Caboclo d'Água, who tips your canoe on the river and waits underneath. Lay a card down in one of four lanes and the creature answers with one of its own. Every summon is paid for with a card already on the table, so every strong play opens a hole somewhere else on your line. Every hit that lands on the creature lights one of ten Sealing Runes. Light all ten and its soul is sealed into your grimoire, out of the world for good. Let it hit you too often and it is your candle that burns down instead. Everything you seal goes into the grimoire, and so does everything that killed you. Lose and you lose the deck, the amulets and the ground you covered. The grimoire stays, and you get another shot at your own soul, knowing more than last time. Key Feature ✔ Singleplayer ✔ Roguelike Deckbuilder ✔ Hand-Drawn Art Inspired by Brazilian Woodcut Prints ✔ Amulets and Ritual Items ✔ Profane Rituals ✔ Four-Lane Ritual Board ✔ Summon by Sacrifice ✔ Grimoire Progression ✔ Full Controller Support ✔ Ten Sealing Runes, One Candle Worth Ten Points ✔ Combat Against Lost Spirits and Lesser Entities ✔ Card Art Full of Easter Eggs From Brazilian Culture ✔ Creatures From Brazilian Folklore, Each With Its Own Deck Setting Obscurium is a second Brazil laid on top of the real one, darker and meaner. Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Sep 22, 2026 to Sep 22, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $0.00
  • Highest observed: $0.00

Obscurium's USD price history spans from Sep 22, 2026 to Sep 22, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $0.00, the highest is $0.00, and the first visible tracked price is $0.00. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

Obscurium's tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00, from Sep 22, 2026 through Sep 22, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00. The latest run records $0.00 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $0.00
  • Current list price: $0.00
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records Obscurium at $0.00 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
