Hello, We wish you a wonderful year in 2025. Unfortunately, for us, things are starting off a bit more complicated. We are dealing with administrative issues that are still preventing the game’s completion and delaying the release of the update originally planned for December(2024). However, we have not given up on finishing the project. Once it is 100% back in the hands of the original team, we will finally be able to complete it and escape the development hell the project has fallen into.

For the next update before the final release scheduled for this year (finally), we have integrated orientation via head movement or left-hand orientation to be selected in the in-game menu. At the moment, the left-handed mode still presents a conflict between headsets and will be planned after the final release. Hello fellow Doll-citizens! The soundtrack for Acidpunk: Echoes of Doll City has just been released!!! We've been waiting for this moment for a while now, and with the final version of the game getting closer, we think the time is right! 33 tracks, including unreleased ones, and a whole bunch of hours spent tweaking sounds that, I hope, fit the strange and hallucinatory atmosphere of the game. Long ambient and trippy passages mingle with synthwave, IDM, or eerie vocoder ballads, performed by fictional bands. Every tune has been produced with this question in mind: what kind of music a band or a musician would play if they were living in a place like Doll City? We hope 2024 will be better than 2023, which was quite a difficult year worldwide and that the dystopic world of Acidpunk is still far, far away from bcoming a reality for most of us! We had to juggle between our family lives, fulltime jobs and personal matters to find time to release the game's latest update. We've been scratching our heads to find the best way to bring Acidpunk: Echoes of Doll City to today's VR standards. We have decided to remove some features in the control scheme to bring back a more straightforward and intuitive gameplay. This will also significantly improve performance for everyone. Between the worldwide sanitary & economic crisis, various health problems among our crew, a newborn yelling like a black metal singer and various personal and financial issues, it's been difficult to maintain a steady development rhythm. New skin for an old ceremony! Doll City: Prologue changes its name to become ACIDPUNK: Echoes of Doll City! Why did we take this decision? First of all because we think it sounds great and secondly because we find that it fits much better with the atmosphere of the game. More importantly, the subtitle "Prologue" might have been misleading and would let players think they would only get the first part of a game series. Greetings fellow Dollcitizens! From dark alleys to impressive landscapes, you will never walk alone in Doll City. Indeed, wherever you go, music will be omnipresent. From ambient soundscapes to vibrant synthwave, the soundtrack also includes a large variety of genres: nostalgic ballads, psychedelic rock, dark vaporwave, haunting classical themes with hints of chiptune and metal... Your ears are in for a treat. Each music has its own atmosphere and purpose, and has been created to fit perfectly with the scenery. Greetings fellow Dollcitizens, Our second focus will be on the optimization of gameplay and controls. We've been working on a variety of headsets and controllers and implemented and adjusted controls for the following hardware: Valve Index, Vive Wand and Oculus Touch. There should be no more conflicts between different systems. We also spent hours to fine tune sensitivity and precision for each controller type. - Focus on next update: #1 Performance Optimization - 14 June 2021
Greetings fellow Dollcitizens! Our first focus will be on the optimization of Doll City. We want the game to be enjoyable on the vast majority of VR ready computers. Our testing machine has the following specs: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, Geforce 1070, 16gb RAM. We used this computer as a base config to significantly improve the overall performance and stability of the game. Loading times are much faster too, which is a very good thing! We tried to keep up with the same visual quality during all the process.
