Hey Brawlers!We just wanted to let you know we are well on our way with our latest title Surfpunk! Surfpunk is a 1-4 player co-op 'surf 'n slash' featuring radical surfer-pirates, procedurally-generated islands, awesome loot and endless swarms of monsters. While not a sidescrolling beat 'em up like Speed Brawl, Surfpunk features the same attention to detail Double Stallion is known for when it comes to vibrant art style & slick combat systems, but this time built from the ground up to be a thrilling online cooperative experience! As we prepare to launch a demo, we are currently holding monthly playtests and actively looking for new players. We'd love for you to join and give us your feedback. Now, to the casual outsider, what we’re doing might seem absolutely nuts, but we thought we’d put together an alphabetical list of all the PC games that have been confirmed to appear at this year’s E3 show. We will be framing this mode as a race where players take turns to fight battles as quickly as possible and try to beat the other player’s time. There will also be a simultaneous race mode where players try to do as much damage as possible before reaching the finish line. - Kongregate s new games store Kartridge is open for business - 1 November 2018
It feels like there’s been a flurry of activity recently in PC games stores. Discord recently added a retail section to their multi-chat client, and now browser game hub Kongregate is getting in on the action. Kartridge is their new store, available in both browser and desktop app forms. It’s mostly focused on smaller independent studios, as well as supporting a number of free downloadable or browser-based games, and wraps everything up in the achievement-chasing social systems that Kongregate was so well known for. Punching stuff is fun, and Speed Brawl proves that punching everything fast while bouncing around the screen like a loon is even better. Released on Tuesday, Double Stallion’s Speed Brawl is a platform beat ’em up set in colourful steampunk 1880s Britain after an alien invasion. The nation is rebuilding, and Speed Brawling (what it sounds like, really) is the new national sport. There’s six playable characters (three scrappy ladies, two lads and a big robot in a top hat), optional online and local co-op some light RPG elements and a ticking clock to race against.
