Latest Steam announcements

  • Dragons Die update 1.1.0 - 12 August 2026

1.1.0 is up. Five of the twelve dragons had no voice, no combat lines. They were fighting in somebody else's mouth. All twelve speak for themselves now, and Throatbell rings the toll when a wingmate falls (as it should be.) Crossroads went from five forks to seventeen, and they actually ask you something... both roads cost, never the same thing, and the card shows the price before you pick. Some roads only open for the wing you brought. Breath is a decision again instead of a number you top up. A strong wing is a short wing. Fly lighter, fly further. And the runaways are closed. rate of fire, range, and armor could all reach the point where nothing in the game could touch you. Enemies scale with depth now, which they never did. Hitting balance, but I don't have many testers. Just me. Not finished. Still working on it.

  • dragons die 1.0.3x hotfix - 4 August 2026

  • Dragons Die Major Update - 4 August 2026

1.0.3x — The World in Color This is the biggest patch since launch, and most of it is me fixing things I shipped broken. Straight list, no padding. Runs that couldn't be finished Region 2 is passable. Three Breath costs were stacking, so reaching the nearest hold cost more than a full wing could carry. Scan-gated holds can be taken on a return visit. The watchspire the game told you to find was never spawned on a second trip to a region. It's there now — labelled, visible through fog, with a real hitbox, and any dragon in the wing can claim it instead of only your captain. Flying to a map site does something. Caches, roosts, cairns, wrecks and hold keys all had a trigger radius smaller than the distance your wing stops at. You'd arrive and turn for home having touched nothing. Warded holds tell you what they want. They asked for a Spire Sigil and never said where sigils come from, or wh…

  • Dragons Die is out now — raise the wing - 14 July 2026

THE LONG WATCH BEGINS. Marblewick: Dragons Die is available now on Steam for $4.99. Dragons Die is a small, strange strategy game about raising a wing of named dragons and sending them into a reach that charges for every mile. Every dragon begins as a shell. Species, class, personality, bonds, and the instincts they develop make each one a particular life rather than a replaceable unit. Pick the wing. Plot the route. Spend Breath to travel, fight, and make it home. The same Breath that carries your dragons outward must still be there for the return. WHAT WAITS IN THE REACH Hatch a wing from nothing. Name new dragons, learn who they become, and fill the empty chairs at the Long Table. Plot every flight. Choose a bearing or mark a route, budget Breath for the whole journey, and decide when the hunt has cost enough. Fight in real time. Change formation, fire class-specific wing calls, brea…

Some will leave their names at the long table. This is a slice of the full game: warm hold, dangerous hunts, named dragons, tactical real-time fights, and the first taste of the memorial systems that make every loss stick. In the demo Hatch and lead a flight of named dragons Fight through the early reach in real-time tactical combat Return to the hold, recover, remember, and launch again Meet Pegs, who kept the hearth and waited for the eggs to crack Start carving the kind of long-table history that only permadeath can make dragons die. their names don't. — hatch them. name them. carry them home —
