Latest Steam announcements

  • Aki Basho Sale - 11 September 2026

During each basho, I put this game on sale for 20% off. So please wishlist and wait until each basho to grab it on sale! Or if you choose to grab it full price regardless, thank you! Each basho sale will last for 2 weeks (longest I could make a single sale on Steam sorry I can't do the whole 15 days!) The Aki (September Basho) starts on 9/13, as does the sale. Tune into the basho by watching highlights on NHK Worls Japan's site, or by viewing streams from pros like Leo Dickinson and Midnight Sumo. And check out Sumo Spiffy for the recaps!

  • First Major Update to Uchi No Heya! - 10 August 2026

v1.1 - The SumoDB/Staff Update THE SUMODB (Steam / desktop) The RECORDS room is now extremely meaningful. A full career database tracks every real bout in the game world. Wins and losses by kimarite, career streaks, head-to-heads, kinboshi, injuries, and full basho-by-basho history for every rikishi, including retired legends (a career archive preserves notable AI careers forever). - DATABASE tab in RECORDS: a searchable index of every known rikishi with division, status, and sort filters - Full profiles: wins-by-style spider charts, winning and lost-by kimarite bars, rank progression with division bands, division records, streaks, injury history, the complete basho log, and a recent-form strip that reads newest-first - Record boards: 14 boards such as Career Wins, Championships, Special Prizes, Gold Stars, Kimarite Variety, and more - All Heyas: every stable in career's world in one ex…

  • Banzuke/Logic updates - 24 July 2026

v1.0.7 is out (web + Steam) — banzuke and scheduling release:- The banzuke never publishes empty sanyaku ranks again. the committee now always fills both Sekiwake and Komusubi slots the way real Ozumo does, reaching into the upper Maegashira when it must. - Top-heavy eras now schedule like real sumo (thanks Spiffy for the forensic report): with 3 Yokozuna and 5 Ozeki around, Y/O clashes now start early enough for everyone to actually face each other and a yusho co-leader will not dodge the other co-leader on senshuraku. Your 15-0 means something now. This applies to the AI too- Off-season can't be skipped by quitting after a week-0 workout, the chanko feeding menu scrolls when you've stockpiled bowls, and imported saves now receive all the achievements they'd already earned — load your web import on Steam and years of progress pop at once. Divine bowls also now count for the Excellent c…

  • V 1.0.3 - Launch hotfixes - 21 July 2026

Small hotfixes - Fixed low FPS on the Fall and Spring off-season backgrounds (Steam/desktop) — scenery now renders as a single baked image; leaves, petals, and snow still animate. - Fixed rapid clicks during a bout replaying the finishing throw and launching a rikishi off-screen. - Fixed the day advancing underneath an open schedule overlay when using a controller — overlays now properly capture focus, and advancing the day closes any open overlay. - Fixed Hardcore (Heya) scouting showing the base price while charging the 1.3× hardcore price — the label now always shows what you'll actually pay. (The higher cost itself is intended hardcore behavior.)

  • Steam Deck Hotfix and other small bugs - 20 July 2026

This update should get steam decks using the right depot! Also fixes: NaN being displayed during bouts where a rikishi's stat is over 100 Events that are too expensive being offered too early "Top Division" achievement description corrected to Makuuchi This also brings the Steam version up to date with other patches that were live on the web version for some balance changes and matchmaking fixes.
