Developer Question is the studio behind The Blackout Club and The Magic Circle and is made up of veterans of the BioShock series and the South Park RPGs - and is now working on a new South Park game, that may even be a multiplayer title. There hasn't been much movement on South Park games since the release of Ubisoft's well-received South Park: The Fractured But Whole RPG in 2017, although the show's animation studio is apparently working on its own game internally . Well, fans can look forward to another game coming, as Question just put up a job listing for a lead level designer for an Unreal-powered title "set in the world of South Park". The listing requires experience with "multiplayer level design work", so expect the near title to include or be exclusively multiplayer. August 8, 2021: Co-creator Matt Stone has confirmed that South Park Studios is internally developing the next South Park game. It's been four years since the last South Park game, the fantastic and still relevant superhero parody The Fractured But Whole , and it now looks like there's a new South Park game coming from creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone - and apparently South Park Studios will be developing it internally. It was announced this week on Bloomberg that the South Park duo of Trey Parker and Matt Stone had signed a huge $900 million deal with Paramount and ViacomCBS to bring a lot of content to their Paramount+ streaming service - including a lot of South Park, such as a new movie, six more seasons of the show, a whopping 14 spin-off features, and "a 3D video game". Editor's note: Ubisoft's South Park RPG hits the Switch today, so to mark the occasion we're returning to our original review, first published in October last year. For nearly two decades, South Park's creators have been working to a weekly production schedule. It's an inconceivable cadence that must raise stress and caffeine levels well beyond what medical professionals would endorse, but crucially it allows the show the agility to satirise events as they're happening in a way that most television can't. We’ve already seen which games sold best on Steam last year, but a perhaps more meaningful insight into movin’ and a-shakin’ in PC-land is the games that people feel warmest and snuggliest about. To that end, Valve have announced the winners of the 2017 Steam Awards, a fully community-voted affair which names the most-loved games across categories including best post-launch support, most player agency, exceeding pre-release expectations and most head-messing-with. Vintage cartoon-themed reflex-tester Cuphead leads the charge with two gongs, but ol’ Plunkbat and The Witcher series also do rather well – as do a host of other games from 2017’s great and good.
