Latest Steam announcements

A hotfix has been released following the introduction of Mesh Read and Write issues on some levels using certain meshes.

  • DEMO IT — Patch 0.3.2 - 19 September 2026

Patch 0.3.2 — the paperwork is now on SteamNot a content patch: no new jobs, no new tools. This one wires the game into Steam properly — achievements, a leaderboard per job, markers on your own recordings, and a friends-list line that says which building you are standing next to. AchievementsTwelve achievements. Nine are on the list: Permit Approved — complete your first job.Licensed Contractor — complete every job in the campaign.By the Book — three stars on any job.Not a Scratch — three stars with a collateral score of exactly zero, on a job with something worth protecting.Fully Issued — have all five tools issued to you.Top Shelf — upgrade any tool to its highest tier.Under Par — three stars on a Clean Sweep job using fewer charges than par.One and Done — three stars from a single charge on a job that issued you at least three.First Try — complete every campaign job on the first atte…

  • DEMO IT — Patch 0.3.1 - 15 September 2026

Patch 0.3.1First patch. It was supposed to be a small one. Then a whole new job walked in. NewJob 7: The Strip-Out. You are inside the building this time. Gut the partitions, leave the shell standing, and watch the ceiling — the landlord bills a hole in the roof at the same rate as a wall you were meant to keep. Unlocks after The Yard. Fresh off the bench and shipping early because it is more fun to play than to wait for. ChangedThe Orbital Laser hits harder. Debris gets kicked out of the beam and tumbles instead of sliding off politely, and the shaft throws its own sparks. The store page finally matches the game: five tools, two sandboxes. It has been that way in the build since day one. FixedThe garden shed now honours your tool upgrades. It was running every tool at base tier no matter what you had bought. If the first job felt tougher than the jobs after it, that is why. Its star bar…

  • What Comes Next: Bigger Jobs, and the Tech to Run Them - 8 September 2026

What Comes Next: Bigger Jobs, and the Tech to Run Them Every job in DEMO IT is one building. That is not a design choice. It is the limit of the technology the game runs on, and this post is about what we are doing to lift it. The Short Version We have been building our own destruction system alongside the game. It breaks things at the moment they break, instead of storing every piece a building could become inside the level in advance. If it works, jobs get bigger, levels get smaller and load faster, and the rubble gets finer. Two jobs we built and held back come back on it. No job you can play today uses it, and there is no date. Why A Job Is One Building The destruction system the game ships on works by breaking a structure in advance. Every piece a building can become is worked out before you play and stored inside the level, along with its collision shape. Hundreds of pieces sit th…

  • DEMO IT! Official Early Access Release - 2 September 2026

Today is the day! The official release of CrossAge Studio's (my) first game — DEMO IT! Ready to teach your neighbor the proper placement of a shed? Did you sign off on the forms you totally didn't make up, and hijack an orbital laser to precisely destroy everything but the rundown office building? Then congratulations. You're hired. The job DEMO IT! is a physics demolition puzzle. You are handed a structure that needs to come down and a set of comically oversized tools to do it with. The catch: nobody is grading you on how much you destroy. They're grading you on how little of everything else you take with it. Bring the building down. Leave the neighborhood standing. Collect your stars. Buy bigger tools. Do it again, worse. The arsenal Blast — the honest one. Point, charge, remove. Pocket Singularity — pulls a structure in on itself, then lets go. Wrecking Ball — directional, heavy, dee…

  • DEMO IT launches early! - 2 September 2026

DEMO IT launches September 3 — two weeks early We had DEMO IT down for September 18. It is coming out on September 3 instead. The reason is simple: the build is finished. We would rather have you playing it than sit on a finished game for another fortnight — and since the entire point of launching in Early Access is to find out what players think, every week we wait is a week of not knowing. Nothing changes about what you get. It is the same build we have been testing: six jobs, five tools, and two sandboxes to knock down with no objective attached. It is a small, complete loop that we intend to grow, and we would rather grow it with you in the room. If you have wishlisted it, Steam will let you know on the day. If you have not, now is a good moment. See you then! And bring your hard hat!
