ONE PAWN. INFINITE ENEMIES. THE CLOCK ONLY GETS FASTER. Checkmate Rush is a turn-based arcade roguelite built from real chess moves. Every enemy moves like the piece it is. So do you — and you start as a single pawn. RANK UP OR RESET — Captures score chess points. Score enough and you evolve: pawn → knight → bishop → rook → queen. Get captured and you fall a rank instead of dying — but a pawn who is taken is checkmated for good. DRAFT YOUR BUILD — Fill the XP bar to draft from 20 perks across five rarities: stack cooldown, i-frames, blast radius, mines, phoenix revivals, time-weaving free moves, even conscripting fallen enemies to your side. FIGHT THE COURT — Survive ten escalating stages and the board seals into a throne room: THE NIGHTMARE GATE. The King hides behind his court, dodges your strikes by castling, and answers with royal decrees. Cut his guard down by hand and corner him — one clean capture wins the run… and opens the endless NIGHTMARE, where the real score chase begins. SIX COMMANDERS — Unlock run-changing starts: the gold-hungry Tycoon, the explosive La Bomba, the glass-cannon Berserker and more. EARN YOUR ARMORY — 25 achievements. Piece skins, capture-shatter palettes, king trails. Beta players earn exclusive founder cosmetics that will never return. Turn-based — think fast, but think One run: 15–30 minutes.
