  • Update 1.3 - Distress Call - 20 September 2026

A new kind of contract, a ship that needs you to be quick, and a long list of fixes from your reports. Distress calls A new contract type: DISTRESS CALL. A transport is stranded somewhere in the system with survivors aboard and ten minutes of air. Reach it, hold the collect key to bring them across, and get them back to the ISS. It needs a tourist room fitted - the same room a sightseeing charter uses. If you have been putting off that bay conversion, this is what it is for. It is the only contract in the game that can fail on a clock. If the air runs out, the transport stays where it is. You can still fly out to it. There is just nothing left to do there. Missions The board varies where it sends you. It could hand you the same planet several contracts running. Sightseeing passengers now stay aboard until you dock. They used to be put off the instant the orbit completed - in orbit aroun…

  • Update 1.2 - Service Call - 14 September 2026

Something new to fly out and do, a soundtrack you choose yourself, and a long pass over the worlds you fly past. Missions A new contract type: servicing. Until now every job was shoot it, scan it or carry it. This one is hold station and work. Servicing call - fly out to a satellite somewhere in the system, hold formation alongside it and work through the list. The bird is still flying when you leave; it turns under its own attitude control and lights up to tell you the job took. ISS servicing - a maintenance round on the station itself. It is on your doorstep, so it is rationed: fly other work and the station calls again when it needs you. Both are open at CADET, so they are on the board from your first shift. A new decoration, Technician, for a hundred completed calls. The worlds Every airless world's relief was re-derived from the measured altimetry. Three separate faults came out of…

  • Update 1.1 — Deeper Sky - 11 September 2026

Most of this update came from players writing in. Thank you — please keep doing it. The sky Two changes you will notice within a minute of launching. The Milky Way has been reworked. It is a real all-sky photograph, and it read like one — an even haze laid over everything. The faint wash is gone now, the dust lanes are properly dark, and the core holds its warmth. The band has structure instead of being one smear of light. Distant planets grow in from a speck. They used to appear at a fixed distance, already large — Jupiter arrived out of nothing at roughly eight times the width of a full moon. Now they resolve as a point of light from almost an astronomical unit away and grow the whole way in, rings and moons with them. Flight Fixed: the autopilot could sail straight past the ISS and coast for millions of kilometres before turning around, sometimes more than once. It now keeps enough m…
