• Indie Royale launches biweekly 'pay what you want' bundles - 27 October 2011

  The Humble Indie Bundle popularized the 'pay what you want' model for indie games. Now, new site Indie Royale is running with it. Every two weeks, Indie Royale will launch a 'pay what you want' bundle of four indie games, but with a minimum price that rises and falls depending on how generous customers are. The first bundle is available now, packing Gemini Rue , Sanctum , Nimbus , and A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda. Sanctum, Gemini Rue Indie Royale is a collaboration between folks behind games blog IndieGames.com and indie-oriented digital distributor Desura. Bundles launch with a minimum price of $1.99, but this will slowly increase as people buy it. However, paying more than the minimum can knock the minimum price down a little for everyone else. • Nimbus+ coming to PS3, original PC game to receive enhancements - 1 June 2011

  Nimbus is a little-known indie racing-puzzle game that's managed to make a name for itself on Steam . So what's next for developer Noumenon? An enhanced port of the game for PS3. Nimbus will arrive on PlayStation Network with new content and "improvements" that weren't finished in time for the PC version. "Exactly what these improvements will be isn't entirely set in stone yet," the developer admits . But, the PS3 version is receiving "as much additional development time as the PC version," so it's likely the changes will be quite significant. No wonder the port is also receiving a new title: Nimbus+. But what about the game's original fans, the ones that made it a success on the PC? "The plan is to bring some of the improvements we currently have planned for Nimbus+ over to PC where possible," the developer notes. "But there's nothing decided on that end yet."

• Nimbus Update Released - 15 December 2010

  Updates to Nimbus have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include: Nimbus * Support for ghosts. The game will save ghost for the best times acquired on levels, hitting G will enable / disable the ghost feature. * A new Christmas themed world with new levels can be found by going right at the beginning of world 3. * A new Laser entity, present on the Christmas world. * Global Average leader board, where the players average time across all levels is ranked globally. * The soundtracks for the old worlds have been expanded, and the Christmas world features it's own selection of new tracks. * Better support for analog sticks when playing with a controller, making use of the higher resolution.

  RPS reader Andreas “So Powerful” Persson writes to inform us that indie puzzle-racer Nimbus has just been released on Steam for the price of £5.99. £5.99! That’s not even the cost of a book, and as well all know, books aren’t so hot. If a book was on Hot Or Not, how well would it do? Case closed.
