  • The realm fights back. Your Hero grows stronger. | 0.46.3 - 14 October 2026

Hey everyone! The middle and late game needed more going on. I want you building out, taking risks, and having a reason to bring that army somewhere besides the next town. This update gives you more to fight for. Get out there. The realm has work for you. Seven optional Realm Events are here: Skull Raid Party, The Bone Caravan, Grave Bloom, Faction Feud, A Crown Without a King, The Sleeping Giant, and The Last Stand. Intercept a warband. Break a caravan escort. Bring your Hero to a throne and survive its waves. Or wake something you probably should have left sleeping. Events start opening up after the first 8 minutes with 2 settlements and 12 allies. Bigger opportunities need a stronger realm. One event at a time, with breathing room between them. Win the fight. Keep the strength. Completed events reward ore, supplies, and a Hero buff that lasts for the rest of your run. There is also a…

  • Less guessing. More raising the dead. | Update 0.44.0 - 12 October 2026

Hey everyone, I watched where people were getting stuck and this update is about making the game easier to understand and better to play. Your Hero also needed a reminder that protecting you is his job. Less guessing in the tutorial Clearer directions and glowing buttons show what to press, what to buy, and where to close the screen afterward. Fewer pauses, clearer Continue and Start Fight prompts, and a much bigger Tombstone defense countdown with a reminder to try 2x speed. The tutorial reuses the fallen goblin's body instead of adding an extra recruit. Ore and supplies are highlighted when you need them. Gathering by hand now shows what you picked up above your character. Souls and Soul Sigils look different, and the Sigil menu explains how you earn them. Upgrade menus have less text thrown at you at once. The ending reminds you that each settlement costs more. Be mindful of placemen…

  • Your army has a new champion | Update 0.43.10 - 11 October 2026

Hey everyone, this update gives you more ways to grow your army and makes the start of the game easier to learn. Your undead Hero You can now unlock a Hero who follows you and fights to protect you. He starts with a sword, with Bow Training and Healing Wand upgrades to work toward. Hero’s Party adds three companions, but while it is enabled your maximum health is cut in half. Keep an eye on those cooldown icons when you need to call him back! Build a foothold with Tombstones Unlock Tombstones in the Summoning tree, click the ability, and place the ghost on clear ground. They cost ore only and raise their own troops to fight around them. You can have up to five Tombstones. The settlement limit is now nine to make room for these new forces. The Summoning tree has its own tombstone-shaped layout, too. Less reading, more learning by doing The tutorial is now eight chapters with shorter inst…

  • Update 0.42.0 — Less confusion, more raising the dead - 9 October 2026

Some of you said the upgrades felt too complicated, so I gave the trees and menus some attention. Each upgrade tree now starts in the middle, with colored branches spreading outward through three rings. Zoom with your mouse wheel, drag with left-click, or move around with WASD and arrow keys. Turn on Recommended Path near a tree’s center to highlight your next upgrade. Auto Upgrades follows that recommendation when enabled. Locked upgrades are covered in gray fog and reveal themselves with a silent effect when unlocked. The tutorial and Help menu now explain the new controls and upgrade paths. The main menu has a cleaner layout and artwork using the actual necromancer and skeletons. Gravebound has its own Harder Difficulty section, clearer unlock information, and properly highlighted level selection. New Game rolls a fresh world seed. The tutorial is grayed out on Hard and Gravebound. Y…

  • Your upgrade trees needed some life | Update 0.41.1 - 8 October 2026

Hey everyone, Another update is live. The upgrade screens felt a little bland, especially Legacy. I want building up your army to feel good even when you are picking its next upgrade, so those screens got some love. Give those bones a little more direction Soul Bindings, Tactics, Raid Doctrine, Settlement AI, and Legacy Prestige now have clearer cards, branch colors, and rank progress bars. You can focus on one branch at a time. The in-run trees also let you browse by tier, so it is easier to see what you can work toward next. Cards now tell you whether you can buy a rank, need more resources, need to open its tier, or have already mastered it. Buying a rank gets a little visual feedback too. Legacy looks better, but its effects, costs, and unlock rules are unchanged. Your purchased ranks stay yours. This is a better way to read and browse your upgrades. I have not rearranged the actual…

  • A better beginning for your dumb skeleton army | Update 0.40.1 - 8 October 2026

Hey everyone, The beginning needed some love. I want you raising your first skeleton, getting into a fight, and seeing what your army can become instead of wondering what you are supposed to do. This update is live now. Here is what changed. Start with one skeleton. Build something out of it. There is a new optional guided introduction on Easy and Normal. You start in your own clearing with a body nearby and enough souls to raise your first ally. From there you fight, grow your little army, gather resources, place your first settlement, and defend it. It also walks you through your first Soul Binding, the ? Help menu, Provision Yard, where to find Autonomous Raids, and the Auto Upgrades with Souls option. There is an optional extra fight if you want to push a little further before heading out. Read at your own pace Finishing a tutorial objective gives you time to read before continuing.…
