Welcome back! We are happy to announce a major update will be releasing for the LotR:ACG tomorrow that will bring new content, a new User Interface, and full offline functionality to the game. As announced in our July road map, we are committed to improving the play experience for our players, and with our first major release since taking over development, we begin that journey tomorrow. - Fantasy Flight Interactive are closing their doors just two years after opening - 10 January 2020
The makers of The Lord Of The Rings: Adventure Card Game , Fantasy Flight Games, have announced their digital studio, Fantasy Flight Interactive, is closing down in February. The game’s servers will still be supported, but for now it’s goodbye to the studio that created it. Studio head Tim Gerritsen took to LinkedIn to report the news, writing: “It’s with great sadness that I have to report that the decision has been made to close Fantasy Flight Interactive next month. I’m proud of the team and the game we’ve dedicated ourselves to for the past few years. It’s been an amazing journey with even more amazing people.” (more…)

Fantasy Flight Interactive, a videogame studio launched in 2017 by board game company Fantasy Flight Games, will close its doors in February. Studio head Tim Gerritsen made the announcement in a message posted to LinkedIn , saying that he's now working to help his employees find new positions. The studio is located in Madison, Wisconsin. "It's with great sadness that I have to report that the decision has been made to close Fantasy Flight Interactive next month. Cards of the Captain of Gondor Today we're looking at the cards that will make up Boromir, the Captain of Gondor's Hero Pack. Boromir, one of the original Fellowship, is a Tactics Sphere hero that reflects his status as a champion of Gondor. As a reminder, all cards are subject to change before delivery subject to playtesting and licensor approval. Let's start with Boromir's Hero card and it's current state in development: Boromir Boromir is an 11 Threat Tactics Sphere Hero with the Gondor Trait. His stats are: Attack: 2 Willpower: 1 Health: 11 Boromir has a Vanquish ability that allows him to Grant a +1 Attack and Block to himself or another Character for the round. There are a number of ways of earning new cards and cosmetics in The Lord of the Rings™: Adventure Card Game. If you don't own our game, it's important to understand that this is not a free to play game. You get a base level of cards with the Core Set, and can then earn new cards just by playing the game. Fellowship The first method to earn new cards is to use Fellowship. This is earned simply by completing quests. You gain 1,000 Fellowship for completing a quest (and a smaller amount if you cannot complete the quest). Quest Challenges Click the image to see a larger version. The Tutorial New to the game? If so, we highly recommend that you play the Tutorial Campaign. If you are an experienced gamer, or are coming to us with a lot of specific card game experience, you're probably thinking, 'How hard can this be?", or you just hate tutorials and don't feel like you need the hand holding. We get it. That's why we broke the Tutorial down into separate quests that teach you the basic concepts and then let you put them into practice as you wish. We wrap that up with an original narrative story that nicely leads right into the first campaign. If you are used to lots of other card games, an important thing to note is that this is a Player Vs. Hail and Well Met! The Ringbearer Hero Pack This week we preview the cards coming in the upcoming Ringbearer Hero Pack which will be included in The Witch King's Grasp Expansion. Please note that all cards are subject to change until release and licensor approval. Each Hero Pack includes a Hero card and 2 each of a card from each Sphere for a total of 8 cards. Let's look at the Frodo Hero Card we've revealed previously. Frodo has the lowest threat of any Hero, but the lowest Health to go with it. However, he has Stealth, meaning that he can pick and choose when to act, and bypass guard to attack or resolve objectives. Additionally, whenever he resolves and objective, he will grant you an additional resource with the new Achieve keyword (which works similarly to Vanquish, only for Objectives.)
