• Patch 1.1.0 - Tutorials and Linux native version - 6 September 2026

  Just released v1.1.0:At the start of a new run (first time only, or if you've already played, on your next new run only), some tutorial hints are shown to help with the game.A native Linux version is now available. Note that the game relies on click/tap, and does not have controller mapping, so it will work on Steam Decks, but you'll need to use a mouse or the touch screen.

  Phonemae is out now with a 10% launch promotion for the next 7 days!So what's next? Updates of course. One feedback that keeps coming back is the lack of a tutorial, so this will be the first update early next week. In the meantime, here are some indicators on how to play. You only need your mouse:Each soul is basically a grid of pieces waiting to be broken.Click a colored piece with no symbol to damage it or break it. When it breaks, you get Essence.If you want to break pieces with symbols, click and hold on one of them. This lets you destroy the neighboring pieces too, and earns you a lot more Essence.If you'd rather not break them, destroy the neighboring pieces that have connectors but no symbol. Once they're all gone, the memory gets extracted. Then, when you process the soul, you earn a certain amount of Resonance.Head over to your Planning and you'll find a Shop tab, where you ca…
