  • Patch 1.8: The 'More ways to play' patch. - 21 September 2026

Happy one-week post launch! I've heard your feedback, and now we have more ways to play. Some have said the early game grind is too hard, some want more ways to earn coins, and some want the game to be harder. So let's do it all! When you select a level you'll get a pop-up asking you what your settings for this new game will be. For game modes:Normal - standard gameplay. Shelve items. Collect coins. Place things.Challenge mode - Do that, but also get a small challenge every ten minutes prompting you to collect or shelve a certain item or item within a category, or go to a specific location for a bonus. This is ideal for people who think they know the game and items pretty well! For coin payment modes:Per shelf - Standard. If you fill a shelf, you get $1. Per item - If you place an item correctly, you get paid for that item. Does a shelf need four items to become full? Cool. You get 25 c…

Updates:Saves: Saves are now less system intensive to complete.Saves: Autosaves now are forced shortly after you complete a shelf, allowing better progression saving against crashes.Saves: Autosaves no longer spam your save-list. They occupy just one slot per level and update the same save slot.Saves: Game forces an auto-save more reliably on quit.Controllers: Game now detects your controller and switches to the appropriate control scheme automatically. It'll also save your existing keybinds for your other control schemes.Visual: Fixed two upside down labels at the register shelves.Item: Lemon Sports Drink incorrectly read 'Lychee' on the bottle, now fixed.Performance: Item physics performance adjustment should help people experiencing some performance setbacks. • Launch Hotfix Patch 1.5 - 14 September 2026

Launch Hotfix: Visual: Made the exposure/colour of the ground and items close to it less bright, for reducing eye-strain. Visual: Grapefruit colour now visibly more different to Oranges. Visual: Reduced Lighting intensity UI: Main menu edits to better suit all screens, including Ultra Wide monitors which had some clipping issues Shelf Labels: Fixed a bug where the shelf labels for 'register candy' were showing the incorrect numbers. • Thank-you and upcoming Roadmap announcement. - 5 September 2026

Hello everyone! Put Back Stuff launches in 9 days, and I am absolutely floored by the reaction so far. Thank-you so much for the wishlists, and for those who have reached out with questions or provided feedback and requests across different platforms and to the inbox. Truly, I am so honored and grateful for every person who has wishlisted the game and shared it. As a solo developer releasing my first project, I did not expect this at all.I spent some time updating our trailer and page content today with some new features, so I recommend heading back to the store page and taking a look. Just prior to launch I'll be releasing a dedicated roadmap. This roadmap will indicate new features and level releases. Our first additional level will be the craft store level, followed closely by an entomologists archive (a bug scientist)! Since Put Back Stuff is theme neutral, we're really able to crea…
