- Dead Rising 4 and Middle-earth: Shadow of War joining Xbox Game Pass this July - 3 July 2019
Microsoft has announced the eight new titles being added to its Xbox Live Game Pass service for July. Undoubtedly, the two biggest games from the set are relentless zombie whack-em-up Dead Rising 4 and rivalry-brewing Lord of the Rings spin-off Middle-earth: Shadow of War. More specifically, Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be available on Game Pass from 4th July. It'll be joined by lifestyle sim My Time at Portia and will support play across both console and PC. On the same day, esoteric RPG Undertale will also be added to Game Pass for PC players. Read more
- 158 jobs lost as Dead Rising developer Capcom Vancouver closes down - 18 September 2018
Capcom Game Studio Vancouver – the team behind Dead Rising 2 , 3 and 4 – is no more. Confirmed in a statement to Kotaku , the Canadian outfit formerly known as Blue Castle Games is closing their doors today after a series of cancellations. While “a skeleton crew” will remain at the company until January, a total of 158 will lose their jobs. The writing has been on the wall for a while now. Back in February , Capcom Vancouver shed a third of its staff, along with cancelling a yet-unannounced project in production, but it seemed like Capcom still had plans for the studio. Dead Rising and Puzzle Fighter developer Capcom Vancouver has suffered a major round of layoffs. Kotaku reports around 50 people were let go, with one unannounced project cancelled and a reduction in scope of the next Dead Rising game, which was "over-scoped and under-staffed". Capcom has revealed new classic character costumes for Dead Rising 4's upcoming Capcom Heroes mode, including Resident Evil's Jill Valentine and Okami's Amaterasu.
