- Dev Blog - September Balance Patch - 4 September 2026
Hello friends! The meta is perfect. Said no one ever. To be fair, the meta is in a decent place. Yes, there are a few cards and archetypes that are causing issues and we will be addressing them in this patch, slated to launch alongside the Ring of Fire mini-set on September 10th. While a few decks are basking in the limelight at this current moment, they are not overwhelmingly more powerful than the next tier of good decks, like has sometimes been the case in the past. This means that a few tweaks and fiddles should help the meta a lot by bringing many solid decks currently in the shade into the post-patch sunlight (our pattern-recognizing tool tells us it is always sunny post-patches). While this patch covers a lot of ground, the biggest focus is on weather. It has several issues (bugs notwithstanding), but the biggest one is the consistency of Storm as a removal option. Currently, 8 o…

This was our first major tournament since Oceania Storm made landfall, bringing new strategies, fresh lineups, and an evolving battlefield. The field rose to the challenge. - Balance Dev Blog - July 2026 - 30 June 2026
Hello friends! It's been quite the whirlwind since Oceania Storm hit a couple of weeks ago. While the verdict is still out on many cards and the meta is still fairly chaotic, certain cards and archetypes have certainly sailed above others. The good news is that the key features of the expansion - the new nation and weather - are seeing plenty of play, something that has not always been the case for new expansion mechanics. The bad news is that the new nation and weather are a bit overtuned and need some balance tweaks. While Forecast is at the forefront of most top decks at the moment, we are seeing many different flavors of it. Anzac itself has 3 distinct strategies going for it, that oftentime overlap within decks - the aggressive strategy with Dingo and The Double Sunrise leading the charge; the ramp strategy with Nzans and The Anzac Spirit and finally Forecast, with Task Force 44 an…
