• Flotilla September 2023 Update - 2 September 2023

  Hello all, here's the Flotilla update for September 2023. Big huge thanks to Ethan Lee (flibitijibibo.com) for doing the heavy lifting and making this update happen. Camera movement is now smooth Since release, the camera movement has been pretty jittery. This update smooths out the camera movement. Under the hood: instead of manually forcing the mouse cursor to the center of the screen each frame, the game now instead grabs the mouse's relative movement. This results in clean, no-jitter movement. Camera speed boost change Pressing the Shift key speeds up camera movement. Before, it ramped up the velocity over .8 seconds. In this update the ramp-up time is now .1 seconds. Lowered the camera boost speed from 12x to 4x. Particle effects now work Particles effects... now work! • Flotilla now on Win/Mac/Linux! - 16 April 2019

We ported Flotilla over to a new tech base, which resolves these technical issues and also allows the game to be cross-platform. Enjoy!

  Quadrilateral Cowboy and Thirty Flights Of Loving superstar Brendon Chung of Blendo Games has released Flotilla 2 , a VR-only sequel to 2010’s tidy turn-based tactical spaceship battler. Yes, you’ll need Rift or Vive cybergoggles if you want to jaunt across space with a rag-tag group of spaceships. • Flotilla 2 will fling you into tactical space battles in VR - 26 April 2018

  I know it launched eight years ago, but it’s strange that we don’t talk about Blendo Games’ Flotilla more. It’s a playful space romp full of turn-based tactical battles that evoke the real-time scraps of Homeworld. I frequently think about it, and wonder if Blendo will ever return to its distinctly orange universe and its aggressive space critters. Good news, then! Blendo is indeed returning to Flotilla.  Bad news: It’s exclusively for the HTC Vive.  Flotilla 2 doesn’t looked all that far removed from its predecessor, otherwise. You set up plays, ordering your tiny ships to move to specific destinations or attack particular enemies, trying to find chinks in their armour to hit them where it hurts.   Version 2.4 * Crash: Fixed crash in audio initialization. * Game: AI now chooses enemy targets on a more random basis. * Game: Fixed issue with Bruja Heart item not working. * Game: Camera no longer automatically zooms out after all ships have orders.
