- Japanese translation added! - 5 October 2023
Hello everybody! I'm writing a quick post to let you know that Sweetest Monster has been translated into Japanese by Ichisan! I'm very happy that even more people can have a chance to meet Bell and Robin. I hope you enjoy reading their story! As always, please let me know if you find any bugs in this build, and I will try to fix them within a reasonable time frame. - Spanish translation added - 9 June 2023
Hi everyone! I'm writing a quick post to let you know that I've uploaded a new build of Sweetest Monster (after all these years... Wow…) This new build fixes a couple of typos that were present in the English text, and (more importantly) adds a full Spanish translation to the VN courtesy of Aarón Acencio. Aarón also translated my other short, dark VN, The Mermaid of Zennor, into Spanish, so you can check that out here if you're interested! Bell can now speak in six languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese. That's very impressive. She's quite the polyglot! - All Ashes and Illusions released on Steam - 4 August 2022
Hi everyone, I'm writing an announcement to let you know that my newest VN, All Ashes and Illusions, has been released on Steam! Ashes is a fairly grim 'romance' story about a delusional young prince who falls obsessively in love with his childhood nursemaid, Safiya. Ashes features content some people might find discomforting, such as: a relationship with a 20 year age difference (Yuel, the protagonist and delusional young prince, is 20, while Safiya, his nursemaid and love interest, is 41), dub/noncon, written depictions of violence, coarse language, and a lot of casual misogyny. Ashes is quite a painful read, but it's one of my favourite stories I've written to date, and I'm very fond of the characters. Do consider checking it out, if you're after a VN with an older love interest, and you don't mind a hefty dose of Despair and Suffering! I'd be very interested to hear what people make…
- Sweetest Monster sequel - 16 July 2022
Hi everyone, I'm not sure if you're aware, but I've been working on a sequel for Sweetest Monster these last couple of years called Sweetest Monster Refrain. The sequel is in a pretty decent state right now: it's only missing 3 pieces of artwork (which will take maybe 3-4 months to be finished), and then it'll be done. I submitted a WIP build of the game to Steam a few weeks ago, but the game was banned because the content was deemed inappropriate for the platform. I wasn't given any means to appeal the ban, and I was told I wasn't allowed to resubmit the game even if I censored parts of the story (which I don't want to do anyway, because that would defeat the purpose of the story), so the sequel will not be available on Steam. - Salome's Kiss released on Steam - 29 April 2022
Hi everyone! I’m just writing a post to let you know that my newest visual novel, Salome’s Kiss, has been released on Steam. Salome is a yuri visual novel with some very gorgeous art which, on the surface, might not seem all that similar to Sweetest Monster. Salome is, however, one of the darker visual novels I've written, despite all the mannered prose and the cute character designs, and it has a pretty nasty ending (though perhaps it's not quite as nasty as Sweetest Monster's...) If you enjoyed Sweetest Monster for its dark and unsettling atmosphere, you might find yourself enjying Salome, too. They have a fair amount in common - and I want to know which story people think is the grimmest. I can't quite decide! If nothing else, reading Salome should tide you over before the release of Sweetest Monster's sequel (which I am, indeed, working on. I'm making pretty good progress on it, too…
- German Translation - 13 March 2021
A new build of Sweetest Monster has been uploaded to Steam, which includes a full German translation, a couple of typo fixes in the English script, and some minor edits to the UI to make it look slicker. Thank you to everybody for all your support. It is because of you I’ve been able to translate this visual novel into so many languages, and it’s most appreciated! - French translation - 10 January 2020
Hi everybody, I recently uploaded a new build of Sweetest Monster to Steam, which includes a full French translation of the story by Herclinze! It's kind of amazing that this VN is now available in four different languages... I never expected this would happen, but I'm very thankful! This build also contains a small edit to the Russian translation, to correct a minor bug. If this update does anything strange to the game, such as breaking achievements, please let me know. - Rituals in the Dark Release - 22 November 2019
Hi everyone, My newest VN, Rituals in the Dark, has been released! It's a short yuri VN with some vaguely spooky themes, with art by the same artist who worked on Sweetest Monster! Rituals is nowhere near as dark as SM is, and the have very different stories, but they're very similar from a visual standpoint. Hi everyone, I thought I'd let you know I've released my newest VN, The Language of Love! It's a kinetic BxG romance story, and it's very different to Sweetest Monster. LoL is more of a 'standard' romance story, and it doesn't include any horror elements... But, if you enjoyed the writing of Sweetest Monster, you might be interested in LoL all the the same. Its main themes are: the importance of family, the inevitability of death, and the deliciousness of doughnuts. Given it's a short VN, it can be purchased for $2.99. I think Sweetest Monster and Lily both share a lot of similar themes, and I consider the two stories to be set in the same universe. Tonally, they're a little different (Lily doesn't have any fanservice elements, and is less unpleasant), but I thought some people might be interested. - ebi x
