Here are the improvements and bugfixes that have been added in this update. When in lobby room, pressing the camera button now resets you to center of lobby. Oculus build: fixed some controls parameters that were causing accidental button presses. Added option to remove the occlusion cone when moving the camera. To disable the cone, add -cameracone false to your Flotilla 2 command-line parameters. Fixed crash that involved the decimal separator being interpreted differently by the world region your computer was in. Now automatically writes a logfile (log.txt) when running in compatibility mode via the game launcher.

Quadrilateral Cowboy and Thirty Flights Of Loving superstar Brendon Chung of Blendo Games has released Flotilla 2 , a VR-only sequel to 2010’s tidy turn-based tactical spaceship battler. Yes, you’ll need Rift or Vive cybergoggles if you want to jaunt across space with a rag-tag group of spaceships. That leaves me out but, as someone who likes the first one , I do still hope goggheads juice their central processing meats hard on this. (more…)

As much love as I have for the likes of Gravity Bone and Quadrilateral Cowboy , of Blendo Games’ output thusfar, my favourite has to be Flotilla . It was a quietly satisfying little game about tactical space combat, physics, and gratifyingly hard-hitting missiles, all wrapped up in a sharp low-fi aesthetic and spiced with Rastafarian space-cats. Today’s good news: There’s a sequel in the works! Less-good news for the majority of the PC gaming sphere: It’s going to be a Virtual Reality exclusive. (more…)
