We were alerted this morning by Unity about a security vulnerability in Unity-made games.We have now released patched versions of the Windows and OSX versions of the game to address this issue.

- Knights And Bikes in The Yogscast Tiny Teams Festival! - 9 August 2020

- Knights And Bikes wins IGF award for Visual Art, gets 4 BAFTA nominations! - 20 March 2020
Hey Everyone! If you've not heard the news, our little solo/co-op adventure picked up the Visual Art award at this years Independent Games Festival (IGF)!! Because of current events the awards ceremony was completely online, rather than being part of GDC in San Fransisco, but the IGF organisers still put on a fantastic show, which you can watch back here if you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LU0h2mJEtc We're all self-isolating at home, just like everyone at our publishers Double Fine, but happily we were all able to join in on a giant video chat together. - A Short Hike wins the IGF Grand Prize - 19 March 2020
While the Game Developers Conference is not happening this week, postponed by Covid-19 health concerns, its two big awards shows went ahead on livestream. The vile waterfowl of Untitled Goose Game ran off with the coveted Game Of The Year Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards (more on that later), and the chill A Short Hike scooped the Grand Prize at the Independent Games Festival Awards. “Is it friendship? Or is it something more?” goes a common sentiment, particularly on days like today, when we celebrate the anniversary of Captain Cook getting stabbed to death. Well, that’s a stupid question, because there is nothing more than friendship. Games are, for once, not much worse than other media at depicting and exploring themes of friendship. In fact, some of the best stories about it are in games. But since society is still too backwards to give those relationships their own day, I’m hijacking this tiresome profit-motivated holiday in their name. Hello Friends! It's that time of the year again, the Steam awards are happening super soon. Do you think Knights And Bikes should be up for an award? It's in your hands if you do! There's a whole bunch of different categories, although "Better With Friends" was one that caught our eye! So you can just click that button above if you enjoyed it with a pal, or you can dive in and see what other categories there are to pick from. Obviously Nessa, Demelza and Captain Honkers would all go bananas if we earned a nomination. But more than that, a Steam nomination could really put Penfurzy Island on the map! Developer: Foam Sword Publisher: Double Fine Release: Out now On: Windows, Mac, Linux From: Steam , GOG Price: 15.50/$20/ 17 You can’t sprint in Knights And Bikes without making a noise. Demelza and Nessa, the two player characters in Foam Sword’s optionally co-operative adventure, insist on it. Demelza goes all in with dopplering ‘vrmmmms’ and ‘nyeeoows’, while Nessa, older but no less playful, exaggerates the swoosh of the wind. The kids swoop about Demelza’s island home, between caravan parks and scrapyards and the struggles of a bereaved family dependent on tourists that haven’t come. It’s an action adventure game about a child coming to terms with her mother’s death, but it’s also about friendship, an ancient curse, and a very good goose. (more…)
- A Knights And Bikes cartoon is in the works - 17 September 2019
Delightful friendship-’em-up Knights And Bikes has been blessed by the television gods, as Tiger Aspect Productions have picked up the rights to develop an animated series based on its unsupervised 80s childhood adventures. Tiger Aspect are a pretty huge production company, and listing their programmes would take a while. Most notably, they’ve adapted both Aliens Love Underpants and Charlie And Lola, the latter making an excellent comparison to Knights And Bikes’s boisterous and cute personality (side note: read the Clarice Bean books, you cowards), and I’m super excited to see how this turns out. It’ll be aimed at 6-12 year olds, but I’ll be surprised if its appeal doesn’t reach beyond that. (more…)
- Knights and Bikes is getting an animated TV series - 17 September 2019
Heartfelt adventure Knights and Bikes is being turned into a telly series. An animated show has been announced by Tiger Aspect Productions, based off of the Knights and Bikes game and spin-off book series. (Yes, it's already a book series!) Indies, eh? They’re not just developers these days. Since 2014, Double Fine have published a wildly diverse range of indies under the Double Fine Presents label. Their latest, charming Cornish adventure Knights And Bikes definitely has that recognisably Double Fine quirkiness, but they’ve also pushed some properly weird little curiosities like Kids and Mountain . Somehow, bank holidays always sneak up on me. You’d think after years of working for councils and universities I’d have figured them out by now, but nope. I remain completely flummoxed by the concept of time this week. What year is it? What are mornings? Why is everything in Britain still open exclusively when you can’t bloody get to it? Games, of course, do not recognise holidays. The tubes emit games, so many games, whether we’re here or not. The gorgeous Knights And Bikes launched today, inviting us to join the adorable adventures of two kids (with cooperative multiplayer) in a Cornish caravan park in the 1980s. Ride bikes! Play frisbee! Splash in puddles! Befriend a goose! Hunt for treasure! Battle baddies! Try not to get evicted! I feel like I’ve been watching this game for positively yonks, yet today’s launch was somehow a big surprise to me. How splendid.
