Bug fixes: Fixed a bug that reset game statistics in certain circumstances Fixed a bug that prevented saving the chosen Meeple's colors This means that you will get back all the stats you have lost! Dear community, we have worked on improving Carcassonne with bug fixing and several quality of life improvements, like the pretty useful "Meeple Outline"! Here is the patchnote for this update: Bug fixes: Fixed a bug when opening the achievements screen the first time Fixed a bug when exiting the current online game when another game is forfeited due to time-out. A corrupted save file no longer blocks the loading process but reset to default values Dragon phase do not play the correct number of turns if a player is swapped by a bot during online games (timed-out or replaced by auto-play) is fixed Improvements: Adding the option "Meeple Outline" In-Game animations speed is adjustable (4 levels) Removal of option "Meeple bounce" toggle (always active) Option screen has been reworked with pictograms An indicator is displayed with different levels when the connection to the network becomes…

Board games don’t belong on computers. They’re a refuge from the screens that bore into our eyeballs and our lives, a chance to bask in the musky glow of fleshy humans. But sometimes those humans are far away, and sometimes stores give digitised board games away for free. The Epic Games Store is handing out the tile-laying town-planning sheep-appreciating Carcassonne , along with the railway-building Ticket To Ride . Ticket’s fine, but Carcassonne is way better. Epic were originally going to give Pandemic away too, but issued a press release saying they’d scrapped those plans until “a later date”. Presumably someone rethought the optics of using a game about global infection to advertise their store during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. (more…)

Sometimes, when a board game loves a personal computer very much, they create something new. Fanatical have got seven digified board games on sale, and there are some gooduns tucked between those I’m not familiar with. Small World 2 and Splendor are my highlights, though there’s also the likes of Pandemic, Carcassonne, Mysterium and Ticket To Ride. Digital board games tend to be a poor substitute for playing against real world fleshsacks. But sometimes there are no fleshsacks within reach. (more…)

Dear community, We heard you and worked hard on a 2nd patch for Carcassonne. This patch fixes the following issues: - Some connectivity and login issue. If you still encounter bugs on this topic, please contact us directly. - 4K compatibility: you can now play on your 4K screen with a maximu resolution of 1920x1080. This is not a full 4K support, but the game is now running on such monitors. - Chat message are now received and sent correctly. - The Hot bot swap option for multiplayer games is now by default on Off, allowing you to quit the game without being replaced by an AI.
