- Online Co-op User Mod! - 26 June 2026
It's been quite some time since I first made the source code to A Robot Named Fight! available to the public, but it's finally bore fruit! Discord user Ettokun has created a mod for the game that enables online co-op! You can find out everything about it here: https://github.com/Renevark/arnf-netcoop/releases To be perfectly clear, this isn't just orb co-op, but full, two Fights, online co-op. Ettokun has release multiple patches and improvements since making the mod available to the public several days ago. To stay in the loop, join the MGS discord here: https://discord.gg/fj7zqJvzm
- Patch 1.6.1.37: Security Fix - 19 October 2025
This patch fixes a potential security issue in the Unity Engine. The exploit could allow a bad actor to run code locally using command line arguments. I'm fairly certain Steam has it's own protections against this, but better safe than sorry. As far as I know, no one has actually exploited this, nor is it possible on Switch. For more info see: https://unity.com/security/sept-2025-01
- Story Mode comes to KAPITAL PUNISHMENT 22XX - 8 June 2023
A major update was just release for my new game Kapital Punishment 22XX. Currently in early access the game is on sale for $3.34 cents until June 22nd. The update adds ACT I of story mode. It's the first of 3 Acts: Act I, Act II and Act III. Kapital Punishment 22XX tells the story of a humble miner, arrested trying to steal medicine for their dying community. The game begins when they're sold to the highest bidder for human experimentation. It takes place in the 23rd century when a vile conglomerate of oligarchs lord over the fractured territories of the Americas from a floating fortress-city known as KAPITAL. This de facto cartel-state maintains control over the populace with brutal cyborg thugs known as KAPITAL OPERATIVES (KOPs). This fist act of story mode sees you escape the W.A.R.R.I.O.R brainwashing program. Now augmented with KAPITAL cybernetics you have to escape Homan Correctio…

- Three-Year Anniversary Update - 7 September 2020
September 7 marks THREE YEARS since I first launched A Robot Named Fight! on Steam. Since then, the game has more than doubled in size and scope through the release of 20 FREE updates. - A Robot Named Fight gets a big free expansion and discount - 24 May 2019
We’ve not talked much about A Robot Named Fight here before, and that’s a shame, because it is a personal favourite. Developed by Matt Bitner, imagine Super Metroid hideously fused to The Binding Of Isaac. It generates short-ish (a couple hours long if you survive to the end) Metroidvania adventures, giving you a different set of abilities and weapons each time round, which will be needed to unlock more areas and explore further. It’s also full of horrible meat-monsters, weird robot gods, and it just got a huge expand-o-patch today, and a discount. See a trailer and some more thoughts below. (more…)

- 1.3.0.24 - Some Small Changes - 21 December 2018
Hi everybody! You may have noticed the recent update to 1.3.0.24. This small patch addresses a couple issues with the previous release including several soft locks that could occur within a new mode accessible in a hidden seed. It also fixes the bug that caused helms not to display properly. In addition to these fixes there have been some slight tweaks to the player physics. Though reception of the game is generally positive, when negative reviews do crop up they often mention that the physics feel too "floaty". This feeling of floatiness was very much intentional, attempting to match the feel of other classic titles from the golden age of SNES. However, in an attempt to provide everyone with a more positive experience I've tweaked the player's jump phsyics ever so slightly to try and find a happy medium between the floaty physics of the titles that inspired ARNF and the more tightly tu…
