- THQ Nordic will announce six new games for its 10th anniversary - 2 September 2021
Video game publisher THQ Nordic says it will celebrate its 10th anniversary by announcing six new games, including new installments in "legendary franchises" that apparently "fans have been waiting decades" for. Well! The reveals will be made in the company's first ever digital showcase event, to be broadcast on 17th September at 8pm UK time (that's 5pm Eastern, or 12pm Pacific). This showcase will be fronted by Geoff Keighley - who else? - and be shown on YouTube, Twitch and Steam (no word yet on 8chan). Read more

It’s Gamescom this week, which can only mean one thing – more confirmed ray tracing games for Nvidia’s RTX and selected GTX 16-series graphics cards. Indeed, the big one that’s just been announced is Minecraft , which (like Quake II RTX) is getting full, real-time ray tracing support for everything from water reflections to its entire lighting system. That’s not all, though. Dying Light 2 will also be getting real-time ray tracing, while Tencent’s freshly-announced action survival game Synced: Off-Planet will be getting ray-traced reflections and shadow support. THQ Nordic's spending spree continues. After buying Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer Warhorse Studios and Gothic developer Piranha Bytes earlier this year it's now opened its wallet for Gunfire Games, the studio behind Darksiders 3 and shooter Remnant From the Ashes , which comes out next week. The Keepers of the Void is now available! - To access the Keepers of the Void you must visit Vulgrim after receiving the Flame Hollow. He will grant you access to the first wing of the dungeon. Other wings are unlocked as unlock more Hollows. The number of confirmed ray tracing games for and selected GTX graphics cards has just got a little bit longer. With E3 2019 in full swing, Nvidia have confirmed that both Watch Dogs Legion and the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will also be getting full ray tracing support, and in the case of Call of Duty, adaptive shading support as well. That ray tracing games list is still pretty small, admittedly, and the number of games you can find it in right now can almost be counted on a single hand. There’s more Darksiders on the way, but this one’s looking a little smaller and cuter than the last. Darksiders Genesis is taking its sprawling world of comic-book gothic excess and cramming it into a cooperative hack n’ slasher. Starring new horseman Strife (introduced in Darksiders 3 ) teaming up with his big-shoulder-padded buddy War; together they fight demon crimes. While some have likened it to Diablo 3, from the looks of the debut trailer below, I reckon this looks far more like the (underrated) Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light . Darksiders 3 has only been out six months, but further evidence has surfaced pointing to a new entry in the apocalyptic action series being revealed at this year's E3. Hints of a new Darksiders first emerged during THQ Nordic's ill-fated 8Chan AMA via an image supposedly leaking the publisher's E3 lineup. And now further mention has been spotted on an official schedule for this year's E3 Coliseum - a three-day series of panels by publishers and developers for all show attendees. With the arrival of Nvidia’s new GTX ray tracing driver, the number of graphics cards that can now take advantage of the tech giant’s fancy new lighting tech has grown exponentially. Internet sleuths aligned an image showing THQ Nordic's E3 lineup with comments made by the company's boss to deduce the titles the company is set to announce. During THQ Nordiq's ill-fated 8Chan AMA , an image was uploaded by an employee of the company showing a list of games to be shown at E3 in June. Bug Fixes The Crucible will now award tokens again. Fixed an issue, where the final boss would not correctly load for some players. Changes Difficulty can now be switched when starting Armageddon mode. This means the previous playthrough’s difficulty does not affect the Armageddon save’s difficulty. This allows for the collection of the “Death Incarnate”(Complete the game on Apocalyptic difficulty) in subsequent New Game + playthroughs even if the previous playthroughs were played at a difficulty lower than “Apocalyptic”.

Introducing Armageddon Mode Armageddon is Darksiders 3 new game plus mode. There are 9 levels of Armageddon, completing one unlocks the next level. With each new level of Armageddon, the difficulty increases, new items will begin to drop, and new encounters begin to appear. Items and their upgrade levels carry over, however the weapons must be reacquired through natural . Weapon levels are maintained, but still locked behind acquiring them via in game events. All DLC progression will be reset upon starting a new Armageddon Mode, and must be unlocked again naturally in the new playthrough. All rewards and tokens will carry over into the new game. If you believe (incorrectly) that there’s no such thing as bad publicity, you may be impressed that people are still talking about publisher THQ Nordic GmbH. Their ‘Ask Me Anything’ Q&A session on 8chan – an infamous image-board permanently delisted from Google for hosting suspected child porn – got people chattering. Unfortunately it’s the kind of chatter that has brought parent company THQ Nordic AB out of the woodwork to publicly apologise for the incident to “group employees, partners and consumers”, although it’s a predictably rote and half-hearted statement.
