Global Updated ScummVM version used to 2026.3.0. Fixed window size when switching out of fullscreen mode on 3D engines. Allow the user to disable manual resizing of the ScummVM window (using Ctrl+R). Updated the source code archive. Added left click emulation to the left trigger pull of a gamepad. Local settings for window size and other settings are now saved properly to the user’s local configuration file instead of overwriting the file with default settings on each launch. Game-specific changes Fixed popping noise in speech in some game releases (bug in the original). Mac only Updated game version and copyright in plist information. Steam only Updated version of Steamworks included to version 1.65.

Global Updated the source code archive. Steam Steam SDK initialization is now optional. This resolves issues for folks on Windows 7 who are having trouble playing with the latest updates to the game.
- Patch 2.0.3 release notes - 27 May 2025
Global Save games are now placed in subfolders with the game names on both macOS and Windows, instead of in a global ScummVM save folder. Save games that already exist will be copied over from the original possible save game locations to the new location (only once) to accommodate this change. Launching the game directly, when launching the game for the very first time, will auto-select the in-game language to be the language you have set on your operating system (if there is a match).

- This documentary aims to reveal the untold story behind Myst - 14 July 2020
A new Kickstarter launched today for a documentary film on Myst, the landmark 1993 adventure game that helped popularize the CD-ROM format and changed the way people thought about videogames. The film tells the story of brothers Rand and Robyn Miller, who created Myst together in a double-wide trailer home in rural Washington state. Myst was a smash hit, capturing the attention of Apple's Steve Jobs as well as mainstream media. Brooklyn-based filmmaker Philip Shane met the Miller brothers in 2016 and pitched them the idea of a documentary, and the project has evolved to take in not only the development of Myst, but also some of the contemporaneous tech that made the game possible: Quicktime, Hypercard (a linking format which led to the popularization of hypertext in web development in the 1990s), the Macintosh, and Strata Pro 3D graphics software. I have been rude about Myst for longer than many readers will have been alive. Seriously, I’m talking for 21 years professionally, and six years before that as a hobbyist hater of terrible games. But, today I confront myself with an uncomfortable reality: I’ve not played it in a very long time. I’ve been wrong about other games . What if I’m wrong about Myst? - Myst 25th Anniversary Update - 11 September 2018
Thank you for your patience while we were getting this update for Myst: Masterpiece Edition ready for Steam! Thanks too for your support of our games. We have been working to ready all of the games in the Myst series for the 25th Anniversary of Myst, which happens later this month. Most of the games in the series required compatibility updates, but Myst and Riven needed more than that to run reliably on modern day computers. We partnered up with the ScummVM team and have worked closely with them to bring you this updated version of Myst.
