- Bit.Trip discounts games for May’hem sale, hopes you see what they did there - 10 May 2013
Just in time for the weekend, Bit.Trip has put a number of their games in a collection on Steam for 75% off. Bit.Trip Runner, Bit.Trip Core, Bit.Trip Beat, and Bit.Trip Void are available for $2.49 individually, or grab the entire collection to get the soundtracks as well. The May’hem sale includes most of the series of delightfully 8-bit games. If you haven’t played them, they have a range of gameplay styles from Pong-like (Beat) to infinite runner (Runner) to...just weird (Void). The only non-8-bit-style game of the series, Bit.Trip Presents...Runner 2: The Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, is not included in the collection and is only (only!) 25% off. I regard this as a shot across the bow by the evil geniuses at Steam. Though the last huge Steam sale wasn’t that long ago, it is already May. It won’t be that long until we’re barraged with the horrible glory that is the Steam Summer Sale…

The Humble Bundle is back on, this time offering a set of games for Android devices. It includes Fieldrunners , Bit.Trip Beat , SpaceChem , and Uplink . Paying more than the average (currently just over $6) gets you Spirits as well. All of the games also come with soundtracks, so altogether Humble Bundle touts a $52 value. As usual, you'll be able to name your own price. To get the latest Humble Bundle, visit the website .
- Steam Potato Sack sale strikes back, 13 indie games half-price again - 13 June 2012
Come with me, back into the distant past. Don't mind that wibbly blurry effect and that "WooOOoOOooOO" noise, that's just what happens when you go back in time. We're almost there. All you have to do is click this link and make the transition to April 4 2011! I've always wanted to say that. If you just took the trip, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. You'll also have a good idea as to whether or not you'd like to purchase the games going in the return of the potato sack sale on Steam.
- Humble Indie Bundle sets minimum $1 donation thanks to Steam scam - 22 December 2011
The well-meaning earnestness and awesome gaminess of the Humble Indie Bundle IV are being exploited by evil internet users who would probably sell their own grans to be in with a chance of winning the latest Steam competition. According to the Humble Indie Bundle blog, distinctly un-humble buyers are using the Steam codes from the Humble Indie Bundle to legitimise throwaway Steam accounts created specifically to enter Valve’s current raffle. “It’s a lose-lose situation for the indie developers, charities, Valve, and Humble Bundle,” says the blog. To combat this, the minimum you’ll have to spend in order to get Steam keys in your Bundle is $1, instead of 1 cent. If the Scrooges among you can’t afford the $1 minimum you can contact the Humble Indie guys and they’ll send you the Steam keys - if you promise not to resell them or otherwise abuse them. The incessant, nauseating loop of Band A…
- Humble Indie Bundle 4 makes $1 million in a day - 15 December 2011
Humble Bundle 4 has made as much money in a day as Humble Bundle 3 did in a week. The total payments sum is shown live on the Humble Indie Bundle 4 front page (currently $1,261,341 and counting). The folks behind the bundle tell us that it took the last sale seven days to reach similar figures, adding that Humble Bundle customers have donated more than $3 million to charity in total so far. The Humble Indie Bundle 4 is the most tempting bundle yet. You can pay anything for Super Meat Boy, Jamestown, Bit.Trip Runner, Shank and NightSky. If you pay more than the average donation (currently $5.36), you get Gratuitous Space Battles and Cave Story+. If the bundle keeps selling at this rate, it could hit the $14 million mark when it ends in 12 days time. Humble Bundle organiser Richard Esguerra is understandably quite pleased. "We're thrilled to see the gaming community respond so enthusiasti…
- Super Meat Boy anniversary bundle packs serious meat - 18 November 2011
Super Meat Boy completely won us over with its slightly icky take on the good ol’ platform genre. To celebrate its first anniversary, the game has been released as part of a huge bundle on Steam, which includes the original game, Aquaria, Bit.Trip Beat, Bit.Trip Runner, Braid, Gish, Machinarium, VVVVV and World of Goo. You’ll also get the music tracks from Super Meat Boy, Braid, Machinarium, Bit.Trip Beat and Bit.Trip Runner. That’s a whole bunch of indie gaming right there, and it’ll only set you back £17.89 ($28) - or £1.78 per game. Oh yeah, it also includes Half-Life 2, for some reason.

As well as being collected and 3D-itised for Nintendo 3DS in Bit.Trip Saga , Gaijin's whole retro-styled rhythm game series Bit.Trip bit is coming to retail shelves for Wii with new content in Bit.Trip Complete . All six are getting new difficulty modes, online leaderboards, and challenges--120 in total. The six BIT.TRIP chiptune rhythm games are headed to Nintendo 3DS with fancy 3D support in a compilation named BIT.TRIP SAGA.

The adventures of Commander Video are served six ways in the new Bit.Trip Saga, the Nintendo 3DS compilation that will included every Bit.Trip game released by developer Gaijin Games. Not only do you get Bit. Trip Beat , you get Core , Void , Runner , Fate and Flux . That's more than two years worth of Bit.Trip releases on one cartridge. And that's not all. If you act... whenever Bit.Trip Saga comes out, you'll get all six games in stereoscopic 3D! So many dimensions! Publisher Aksys Games didn't put a price or date on the Bit.Trip Saga , but with a half-dozen games, gobs of levels, sweet chiptuney music and "crushing difficulty" it should be worth the cost/wait.

- Portal 2 levels appear in potato sack games, clues suggest Portal 2 could be released early - 13 April 2011
When we took an overview of the remarkable happenings in the potato sack ARG yesterday, the trail was going cold, and it looked as though things were winding down. For a few hours at least, they were, then it all kicked off again. New updates have added Portal 2 themed levels to many of the games in the potato sack sale. The voice of Glados has started appearing in menu screens and secret messages, and to top it all, Bit.Trip Beat creators, Gaijin, dropped a heavy hint that completing the ARG could cause Portal 2 to be released early. Adding fuel to that theory, today Portal 2 became available to pre-load through Steam. We've collected videos and screenshots of the new Portal 2 themed levels from potato sack sale below. The Ball The Ball gets a good extra hour of free Portal 2 levels, including one devoted to bowling over Aperture Science turrets. The team have done a great job of recre…

- Steam hold potato sack indie sale, potato clues found in games - 4 April 2011
The Potato Sack sale kicked off over the weekend on Steam. The sale knocks 50% off 13 indie games, including Super Meat Boy, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Killing Floor and more. The whole bundle is 75% off, and you'll get a potato hat in Team Fortress 2. This isn't just an ordinary sale, thought. There's something weird and potato related happening. Several games in the potato pack have received some unusual updates. Egyptian hieroglyphics have been found in Amnesia, potato references have been found in Defence Grid: The Awakening, and plugging a Razer peripheral in to Kick It! will trigger one of fifteen potato related phrases like this one "never trust a potato...they have eyes everywhere. They are always listening...we never went to space! SPUDnik was a Russet Conspiracy!" What the spud is going on? VG247 note that a wiki has been set up to collect the mounting clues, though nobody has…
- Root Maneuver: The Potato Sack Bundle - 4 April 2011
What are you doing right now? Working? Smiling? Breathing? Well, stop with that nonsense and go straight over to the Steam page for The Potato Sack , a new bundle of indie games offering £108′s worth of great indie games, including Amnesia, Super Meat Boy, Toki Tori (which you can read Kieron shouting about here ), The Ball (which Jim and John talk about here ) and Defense Grid: The Awakening, for a paltry £27. I’d eagerly pay £30 for those five games alone, and there are another eight in the pack. While if you already own two or three of these games you might have a tricky decision ahead of you, if you don’t own a single one of them then this is an absolute no-brainer. Buy! Buy it now! There’s even a Team Fortress 2 hat in it for you. And just in case only one or two of the participating games catch your eye, each of them is currently enjoying a 50% off sale. Am…
