- Space Junkies – Final Development Update - 27 August 2019
Hello Spacers, We will be bringing the Space Junkies non-VR open beta to a close on Wednesday August 28th at 9am UTC. While this is the end of our journey in terms of development of the game, the team is proud to have achieved what we set out to do: create a fun and fast-paced competitive FPS in VR. The game servers will remain open and accessible to players who purchased the VR version of Space Junkies so that Spacers can continue to take on each other in the many community tournaments we've seen since launch. The current plan, however, is to not release the non-VR version of the game. Be sure to join our official Discord to keep in touch with other Spacers. 🚀

We have a small balancing patch going live for you today, check out the full patch notes below: SlingShot: Stretch gesture no longer effects the projectile speed on PC VR. Bowminator: Ammo decreased from 20 to 12 shots. Blue arrow damage increased from 100 hp to 125 hp. Super arrow damage increased from 250 hp to 315 hp. Super arrow charge time reduced from 1.3 seconds to 0.6 seconds . Arrow speed has been augmented. Stretch gesture no longer effects the projectile speed on PC VR. Sonar highlights the area in front of you and highlights any hidden enemies in your path. This high-tech tool can even identify enemies through walls- no more surprise attacks! The range is not infinite, so be sure to use sonar strategically in between cooldowns. If your opponent is a strong believer in cloak and saber, make sure you equip the sonar in the armory before your battle! - EQUIPMENT OVERVIEW: LURE - 21 May 2019

This handy piece of equipment allows you to create up to two dummies that look and act exactly like you. The dummies will stay in the same spot, but they explode when shot or if enemies move into close proximity. If your opponent moves in for a sneak attack, they’re in for a shocking surprise! How can you access this advanced cloning technology? We’re glad you asked! Select the lure as a shoulder item when you suit up for battle in the armory. In the field, press the weapon trigger to spawn a dummy a few meters from you. Rotate the lure handle to move the dummy into the perfect position before placing it on the map. The cooldown starts as soon as you spawn the first dummy, so time your strategy right for the maximum amount of confusion. Now get out there and try out the lure for you…

Do be careful though as you are vulnerable while using it and it has a significant cooldown, best to retreat and find somewhere to hide before using it! - EQUIPMENT OVERVIEW: SOLAR SWORD & PHOTON SHIELD - 10 May 2019

Make a slashing movement with the sword to send forth an arc of devastating energy to defeat your opponents, do be careful though as the energy takes time to recharge in a short cooldown. The Solar Sword can be combined with the Photon Shield to protect yourself from incoming fire, move the shield around you to protect yourself from all directions! Though it will disintegrate after taking some punishment. The Photon Shield can be also used with one-handed weapons to mix up your strategy. Send an invite to your friends and once accepted they will join you in the lobby, here you can fly around and test out weapons together. When you initiate matchmaking, your friend will also be added either as your rival or your teammate so you can defeat your enemies together! Learn how! Invite your opponent to a lobby and select the King mode on any map. Choose your weapons carefully- you won’t be able to change your equipment unless someone assassinates you and steals your crown. After you arrive on the map of your choice, you will have 10 seconds to prepare before the crown spawns in the middle of the area. Will you go straight for the crown and take out anyone who gets in your way, or do you prefer to hide in the shadows and take out your competition when their guard is down? As soon as a player claims the crown, the countdown to victory begins. Contenders earn one point per second while they’re wearing the crown, and an additional 5 points for each kill. The first Spacer to reach 100 points wins the crown and bragging…
