- SojournVR is being retired - 24 June 2019
Hello everyone, The development of this game has been extremely slow over the last 6 months because I wasn't able to work on it full time anymore and today I have recently decided to retire the game from the steam store. Anyone who still has a copy of the game will be able to play until June 2020, after that the game will reach end-of-life. I would recommend anyone who currently owns SojournVR and hasn't played for 2 hours should request a full refund through steam support: https://help.steampowered.com/en/ I know this decision will disappoint some of the remaining hardcore fans but it was not possible to continue development on this game. Thank you for understanding, John

New Features Support for 3 characters Can delete characters Characters share a bank, but do not share inventory, toolbelt, ect. - Release 1.3.2a - 28 August 2018
Hello everyone, This release contains a huge update to the player toolbelt. The toolbelt can now hold two tools and a sword. The side the sword is on can be configured in the in-game menu. The entire toolbelt can also be reversed so that the tools are on the opposite side (for left handed players). If you had items in your toolbelt, they have been moved to your inventory. If you had items in your toolbelt and your inventory was full, then your items have been moved to your bank. There were only a couple of players that had a full inventory when this update occurred so it shouldn't be too imposing. A bank can be found in either Labistre City or in the Outskirts. New Features New configurable toolbelt The position of the journal and sword can be swapped Entire toolbelt can be reversed, which causes the tools to be on the left side instead of the right (for left handed players). Sheath wil…

- Release 1.3.0a (Combat Update) - 7 August 2018
Hello everyone, This update is the first part of the combat update. I didn't get all of the features I wanted to get into this update, so some more features will be released at the end of this month. New Features Attribute System Damage is now highly influence by one of three attributes: strength, agility and intelligence The attributes a character has is based on their combat level and the class they have chosen. Each class has different base attributes and scale differently at higher levels. Combat Skill (Players and enemies) Combat skill is increased by defeating enemies Tougher enemies give more exp When you are above an enemy's combat level, you receive less exp for killing that enemy. This encourages players to fight tougher enemies to level faster. Combat Classes 5 classes to choose from, 3 strength classes and 2 agility classes Enemy Aggro Enemies will no longer target you autom…
- Release 1.3.0a delayed - 31 July 2018
Hello everyone, Unfortunately I will have to push back 1.3.0a (the combat update) another week. I don't want to make excuses however I wasn't able to work full time the last 2 weeks but my work schedule is back to normal for the foreseeable future. The content for the actual patch is done but it still needs to be balanced and polished more. I could release the patch today but it's such a big update that I want to make sure that there aren't any issues with it before I release it to everyone. Also it should be noted that this is the first part of the combat update and the rest of the features that didn't make it into this patch should make it into the patch that will be at the end of August. I will release 1.3.0a in a week or less and I will post an overview of all of the features in the patch. If have questions on the upcoming patch, please consider joining the discord. I typically resp…
- Release 1.2.3a - 19 June 2018

Hello everyone, A quick server fix was just released which addresses the performance issues that were introduced by the update yesterday. The issues were server side only so there will be no client update. If you are still experiencing issues please let me know either in the steam discussion board or in the Discord. Additional issues will be fixed in next weeks patch unless they are game breaking like the one today was. I know this month has been pretty light on new content but I'm working on a huge patch in the background that will be released next month. - Release 1.2.0 coming May 29th - 23 May 2018
Hello everyone, Release 1.2.0 is taking a lot longer than expected. I was hoping to get it pushed out yesterday but there were a lot more bugs discovered during testing than expected. I didn't want to push out something that had game breaking bugs so I have decided it would be best to work on it for another week. The release schedule is still on track. I had mentioned in the release schedule that it would be possible for this patch to take a until the 29th which is the case. Thanks all, John Release schedule for May: https://www.dettergamedesign.com/index.php/2018/04/24/release-schedule-may/ Email: [email protected] Twitter: @dettergames Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dettergamedesign/ Discord Permalink: https://discord.gg/D59txxt
- Release 1.1.13a - 8 May 2018
Hello everyone, This patch was supposed to contain the update for sound controls and party integration. Those features will be included in release 1.2.0 which is planned to be released on May 22nd. This patch contains everything else that is listed in the release notes, including playspace rotation. New Features Playspace rotation Fixes Fix for trying to stack items that aren't compatible destroys the item you're holding Changes Item price changes Bronze and Steel weapons/tools are now much more expensive Stone weapons/tools are now much cheaper Oak bow is now cheaper Prices rescaled with merchant level At max levels items can be purchased at 110% of their value and sold at 90% of their value. Hello everyone, The big changes for this week are the additions of the archery skill and selling items. There is a trader in Labistre City next to the lady that sells produce. You can just drop items onto the table and then talk to the trader and he will tell you how much the items are worth and you can either accept or decline the trade. He also has an in game dialogue that tells you how trading works. The coins from the trade are placed in your inventory. If there is no room in your inventory, the bag of gold is spawned near the table. New Features Archery Skill Damage done with bows depends on archery skill Type of arrows that you can use efficiently depends on your archery skill Stone arrows are usable at archery level 1, bronze arrows are level 3, iron arrows are level 8 and steel arrows are level 15. Selling Items to Traders Items sold to traders give you gold and experience point…
- Release Schedule for May - 24 April 2018
Hello everyone, This month will be pretty huge for the game. The first 2 weeks will have some small updates for the game that implement things that should have made it into last month. I am working on a ton of new party features this month which will take up a lot of my time so I don't expect to do a release on the 15th of May. Depending on what issues come up during development, the new map areas and party functionality will be released on the 22nd or 29th. The update will be pretty substantial and it won't be possible to do an incremental update, so the release on the 22nd might be skipped. I will have more updates on this as the development cycle progresses. May 1st (Release 1.1.12a) Archery skill Damage done with bows will be based on archery skill, not strength Archery fixes Your archery skill needs to be at a certain level to use better arrows (Bronze, Iron, Steel, ect.) Crafting…
