• A Cat's Manor at BitSummit 2023! - 26 May 2023

  We are extremely happy to announce that A Cat's Manor has been selected to be among this years showcase of amazing and innovative indie games at the show! We've prepared a special demo for the event localized in Japanese. BitSummit is an annual festival based in Kyoto, celebrating independent game developers and development in Japan. • What threats lay in the dark corners of the Manor? - 18 April 2023

  In A Cat's Manor exploration will lead you into dark corners of the manor that are seldomly visited or maintained. These dark and damp areas act as a Petri dish that allows organisms to grow and flourish. Some of these organisms employee sinister tactics allowing them to infect more complex creatures and hijack their bodies turning them into walking zombies. Once their bodies are hijacked, they are forced into a deathly spiral that serves only one function, to spread the spores and infect as many living creatures as possible. Some of the more evolved organisms will actively seek out higher places. Once perched, the wind will help further spread their spores over wider areas. Navigating these dark areas pose a special kind of threat for our Cat. If you are not careful, and get prolonged exposure to spores, the Cat will eventually get infected. • A Cat's Manor wins at London The Very Big Indie Pitch - 4 April 2023

  After a long hiatus, A Cat's Manor has been in development getting some serious upgrades. The culmination has been it wining the grand prize at London's PGC23 The Very Big Indie Pitch. A lot has changed since development was paused years ago. Most notable changes was Unity game engine getting a major graphical boost with a 2D render. A Cat's Manor makes full use of the new 2D lighting system. The atmosphere has been greatly enhanced now with each room having local lighting with different hues that reflect off of their surroundings. Characters and objects now feature edge/rim lighting. Individual objects, such as emergency lights now cast an eerie haze illuminating objects in the darkness. Compare that below in the old version where you had to work with a single global light solution. Where lights were faked.
